Find him around midday, then try telling him you know Fu Luwa, the dog described as his brother. Those are community-guide suggestions, not guaranteed official quest steps; if the conversation fails or he turns hostile, reset the chat or leave and return.
Where to find Fu Lushou
Start at General’s Shrine in Qinghe. A guide updated September 13, 2026, recommends looking around midday, when Fu Lushou may be outside. Check the shrine area and the building on its right; his position can vary by time or encounter state, so he may not be in the same spot on every visit.
Fu Lushou is presented as an Old Friend/Jianghu Friend whose rapport is built through an AI-chat conversation, rather than a clearly tracked conventional side story. No official quest documentation establishes a fixed schedule or exact step list.
What to say to Fu Lushou
Open the friendship conversation and steer it toward Fu Luwa, the dog the guide describes as Fu Lushou’s brother. The September 13, 2026 guide suggests trying one of these lines:
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →- “I am a friend of the dog Fu Luwa.”
- “I know your brother, the dog Fu Luwa.”
These are reported prompt suggestions, not confirmed mandatory wording. If the conversation rejects the idea or wanders off course, reset the chat and try again. The guide says explanations about the underground treasure are often rejected, so avoid repeatedly elaborating on that subject.
If Fu Lushou becomes hostile or disappears
Guides report that the conversation can fail or turn hostile. If that happens, leave the area, fast travel, or rest, then return to General’s Shrine and look for him again. These are reported ways to reset the encounter, not guaranteed fixes for every game state.

Fu Lushou and Fu Lubao are different encounters
Fu Lushou’s friendship conversation centers on Fu Luwa. Fu Lubao is a separate NPC associated with grave-robbing and Meow Meow’s treasure bell. The older guide, dated November 17, 2025, describes giving Fu Lubao the bell as one stage of that encounter; the newer Fu Lushou guide says completing the bell interaction does not prevent befriending Fu Lushou.
Do not treat Fu Lubao’s bell as an item to hand to Fu Lushou or as a required step in his friendship conversation. If you are following the broader treasure-related sequence, the newer guide says Fu Lushou may move to other locations after those conversations; it recommends exhausting those dialogues before returning to Fu Luwa at the shrine. That sequence is guide-reported and has not been established as universal across game versions.
What is confirmed—and what is not
The available walkthroughs are third-party guides, not official quest instructions. The newer guide supplies the Fu Luwa conversation hint, while the older November 17, 2025 article said a widely shared successful route had not yet emerged at that point. That difference reflects community guidance at different dates; it does not by itself show that the game’s quest changed.
No official source establishes guaranteed dialogue wording, a universal NPC schedule, platform- or version-specific behavior, or a confirmed reward for befriending Fu Lushou. Treat the midday timing, sample lines, and reset steps as practical suggestions rather than fixed requirements.
