“Fun Fright Fest” can refer to different Halloween events. The closest match to that phrase is Six Flags Over Texas’s Fright Fest, announced for select nights from September 11 through November 1, 2026. The park pairs nighttime haunted attractions and scare zones with a separate, less-scary family celebration called Tricks and Treats. Check the Six Flags Over Texas event page for the current operating calendar, attraction availability, and rules before visiting.
What is Fun Fright Fest?
“FUN FRIGHT FEST FACTS” was a heading in Six Flags Over Texas’s 2015 Fright Fest fact sheet, but “Fun Fright Fest” alone does not identify a particular venue or year. This guide focuses on the closest match: Six Flags Over Texas’s 2026 Fright Fest. It is distinct from other events with similar names, including municipal celebrations.
Six Flags Over Texas describes its 2026 event as a mix of haunted attractions, outdoor scare zones, live shows, and Halloween-themed food and drinks. The park announced five haunted mazes and six outdoor scare zones, with “Wake the Dead,” an interactive musical mystery, among the featured attractions. Lineups and operating details can change, so confirm them with the park before you go.
When is Six Flags Over Texas Fright Fest in 2026?
The park announced Fright Fest for select nights from September 11 through November 1, 2026. The announcement does not mean the event runs every night in that date range. Check the park’s event page for the operating nights and schedule relevant to your visit; dates and details may change.

What can families do instead of the nighttime scares?
Six Flags lists Tricks and Treats as a separate, family-oriented celebration on select days from September 12 through November 1, 2026. Its announced activities include a Trick-or-Treat Trail, a kids’ costume contest, a hay bale maze, pumpkin and mask painting, and family entertainment. Check the calendar to see which days it runs and whether the activities you want are available.
That distinction matters: the park does not describe every Fright Fest attraction as family-friendly. Tricks and Treats is the less-scary option; the nighttime haunted attractions are designed to frighten guests.
How do admission and haunted-attraction access work?
In its 2026 announcement, Six Flags says outdoor scare zones are included with park admission and access to the six haunted attractions is included with purchase of a Haunted Attractions Pass. Confirm current pass terms and availability with the park before making plans; the announcement does not establish that every attraction is open on every operating night.
Is Fright Fest too scary for children?
It depends on the child and the activity. The park separates its family-oriented Tricks and Treats celebration from its nighttime scare attractions, so families seeking a gentler experience should look at the Tricks and Treats dates and activities rather than assume all of Fright Fest is suitable for young children.

For context, Six Flags Over Texas’s 2015 fact sheet warned that the event “may be too intense for young children” and advised parental discretion. It described special lighting, artificial fog, and theatrical makeup in use that season. Those statements are historical, not a guarantee of the effects or intensity at the 2026 event.
Scare levels also vary by venue. For example, the City of Delta’s North Delta Fright Fest listing for October 20, 2026 describes guided “Show & Tell,” “Medium Scare,” and “Full Scare” options, and warns of possible minimal lighting, flashing or flickering lights, loud noises, and sudden surprises. Those details apply to North Delta, not Six Flags Over Texas.

Are costumes or masks allowed?
Six Flags Over Texas’s 2015 fact sheet said children 12 and under could wear costumes and face paint, but masks were not permitted. That is a season-specific historical rule, not the current policy. The 2026 announcement mentions a kids’ costume contest but does not establish that costumes are required or state the current costume and mask rules. Check the park’s current guest policies before dressing up.

Quick Recap
How to choose the right Fright Fest visit
- Confirm the venue: Similar event names do not mean the attractions, rules, or format are the same.
- Match the date to the experience: Check whether the day offers family activities, nighttime scares, or both.
- Check what your ticket covers: For Six Flags Over Texas in 2026, the announcement distinguishes park admission from the Haunted Attractions Pass.
- Consider scare effects: Review the specific event’s warnings and activity descriptions if anyone in your group is sensitive to darkness, flashing lights, loud sounds, or sudden scares.
- Verify current rules: Costume, mask, schedule, and attraction policies can vary by venue and season.
