G.SKILL demonstrated a 48GB DDR5 memory kit running at DDR5-9000 CL44-56-56 on an AMD system—but that is an overclocking showcase, not a promise that a typical gaming PC can reach the same setting. The company’s September 30, 2024 announcement describes two 24GB modules using an AMD EXPO profile, tested with an ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Hero motherboard and a Ryzen 7 8700G processor.
What G.SKILL demonstrated
The kit had 48GB of total capacity in a 2x24GB configuration and reached DDR5-9000 CL44-56-56 in G.SKILL’s demonstration. The company identified AMD EXPO as the overclock profile and said the result came while exploring DDR5 overclocking limits with ASUS NitroPath DRAM technology. G.SKILL’s announcement names the demo hardware as an ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Hero motherboard and AMD Ryzen 7 8700G processor.
What DDR5-9000 means for an AMD gaming PC
DDR5-9000 is the demonstrated memory data rate, while CL44-56-56 gives the listed timings. Those figures describe this overclocking result; they do not establish a setting that every Ryzen processor, AM5 motherboard, or 48GB memory kit can run. G.SKILL also cautions that specifications and availability can change, products may not be available in every market, and actual figures can vary from theoretical performance.
The announcement is not a gaming benchmark. It provides no evidence that this memory setting improves frame rates, loading times, or gameplay, so the result should be read as an overclock demonstration rather than a measured gaming upgrade.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Can you buy the exact 48GB DDR5-9000 kit?
The announcement does not provide an exact retail model number, release date, price, or retailer. TechSpot reported on October 2, 2024 that release and pricing details were then unknown; that dated report does not confirm whether a matching kit is available today. The cited sources establish no current retail SKU, stock status, or price.
When searching, use the category description “48GB (2x24GB) DDR5 memory kit,” then check the specific listing for capacity, rated speed, timings, AMD EXPO support, and current availability. Do not assume a generic 48GB kit is the one G.SKILL demonstrated unless the listing identifies a matching model.
