Its 12GB of VRAM, 334mm length and a review sample’s noticeable coil whine are important trade-offs. Whether it is worth buying depends on your case, local price and tolerance for noise—not just its RTX 5070 name.

How well does it perform for gaming?
1440p is the clearest use case
In its review published on 2025-04-10, Guru3D characterized the RTX 5070 EX Gamer as strong for 1440p gaming. That is the most defensible expectation to take from the available independent review; performance still depends on the game, settings and the rest of the system. Guru3D also noted that standardized shading performance can trail some close competitors, with differences varying substantially by game, so the review does not establish a universal ranking.
#1 Best Overall
- Axial-Fan Tech Built to Endure - Triple 90mm axial fans feature refined blades for up to 15% more airflow, counter-rotation to cut turbulence, and durable dual-ball bearings. Stealth Mode stops fans at low temps for silent operation, boosting card longevity and performance.
- Masterfully Crafted Cooling - Advanced vapor chamber and ultra-dense heatsink rapidly pull heat from the GPU, while an open aluminum backplate boosts airflow and ventilation, resulting in lower temperatures for stronger performance and stability in demanding workloads.
- Epic-X ARGB Lighting 2.0 - Craft your command center with Epic-X ARGB lighting. Fully customizable LEDs illuminate your graphics card, turning your setup into a radiant centerpiece and making your gaming space a true reflection of your style.
- VelocityX Software - Gain full control over your PNY graphics card to maximize its performance and Epic-X ARGB lighting. Fine-tune core and memory clocks, dial in custom fan curves, and monitor real-time temperatures and speeds, all from one intuitive interface. Save up to five profiles for instant recall.
- NVIDIA Blackwell Architecture - The Ultimate Platform for Gamers and Creators. Do it all with 5th-Gen Tensor cores for Max AI performance, new streaming multiprocessors that are optimized for neural shaders, and 4th-Gen Ray Tracing cores built for Mega Geometry.
4K depends on the game and rendering method
Guru3D considered 4K/UHD more viable in games that support DLSS 4 and multi-frame generation. These features can raise displayed frame rates, but results are title-dependent and are not the same as rendering every frame natively. The card’s 12GB of memory is also a consideration at 4K, particularly with demanding textures and settings. Treat 4K as a supported-game option to evaluate individually, not a blanket promise that every new game will run smoothly at maximum settings.
Is 12GB of VRAM enough?
For a card whose strongest reviewed use is 1440p, 12GB is a relevant capacity rather than an automatic problem. At 4K, the margin can matter more as resolution, texture quality and other graphics settings increase. Whether it is enough depends on the particular game and settings; DLSS or frame generation does not increase the card’s physical VRAM capacity. If you plan to keep a card for demanding 4K games, check performance and memory use in the titles you actually play before choosing it over a higher-capacity alternative.

Will it fit, and what power supply does it need?
Measure before ordering: this model is 334mm long with its bracket and requires 2.5 slots of system space. Check the case’s GPU clearance and whether other installed components obstruct the card; a nominal length allowance alone does not guarantee practical clearance.

Power can come from a native 300W PCIe Gen5 16-pin connector or from at least two PCIe 8-pin connectors using the included adapter. Check that your PSU has the appropriate connectors and is suitable for your full system; do not treat the 650W figure as a guarantee for every CPU and configuration. The box contents can vary by country, so confirm the adapter with the local seller.

How hot and loud is it?
Guru3D measured around 250W under intense gaming, temperatures around 60–65°C, and 34–35 dBA under heavy stress on its review sample. Those are one reviewer’s test results, not guaranteed figures for every card, case or room. Its acoustic-method page explains that ambient noise and other PC components affect readings, and that hearing varies by frequency; the review calls the test “extremely subjective.”
More notably, Guru3D reported noticeable coil whine on its sample, scoring it 5/10 on its scale. Coil whine can vary between units and with workload, so this does not establish that every EX Gamer will make the same noise. If you are sensitive to high-pitched electronic noise, check the retailer’s return policy before buying.

What should you check before buying?
- Confirm the exact model: look for EX Gamer 1-Click OC and product code 57NON7MDBUEX, rather than another GALAX RTX 5070 design or a white variant.
- Match it to your games: use 1440p as the best-supported expectation from Guru3D’s review; assess 4K and DLSS/frame-generation support title by title.
- Verify fit and power: allow 334mm length and 2.5-slot space, then check your PSU’s total capacity and connector options.
- Check the complete local deal: confirm current stock, exact version, warranty, return terms and total price with the seller or distributor.
Guru3D’s review mentioned $549 as the RTX 5070 MSRP in its 2025 launch context; that is not a current price quote for this GALAX model. A current, geography-specific price and stock status for the exact card are not established here, so no universal value verdict is justified.
How should you interpret the clock figures?
GALAX currently lists a 2557MHz boost clock and a 2572MHz 1-Click OC clock, with the latter requiring Xtreme Tuner Plus. Guru3D’s review contains inconsistent clock figures compared with GALAX’s current specification page. Use the manufacturer’s figures for the product’s listed clocks, and treat Guru3D’s game results and measurements as that reviewer’s findings. Guru3D also experimented with additional overclocking; any uplift it reported was specific to its sample and tuning, not an expected result or universal setting.
