Galvanic Games announced it was closing on June 14, 2024. Founder and president Patrick Morgan said the studio could not sustain itself on sales of Wizard with a Gun, its latest shipped game, and did not have enough time left to sign new projects.
Why did Galvanic Games shut down?
Morgan said Wizard with a Gun had a promising start, but its sales were not strong enough to sustain the studio. He also said Galvanic had encouraging conversations at DICE and GDC, but signing projects took longer than the studio’s remaining runway. Those are Morgan’s stated reasons, not an independently audited account of the studio’s finances. GamesBeat and Gematsu carried his explanation.

The sources do not give a verified sales total, budget, precise runway duration, or other audited financial figures. Morgan’s comments therefore explain the decision qualitatively; they do not establish a numerical threshold or a single broader industry cause.
What was Galvanic Games’ final game?
Wizard with a Gun, made with publisher Devolver Digital, was Galvanic’s most recent release. Morgan described working with Devolver as “a dream come true,” according to Gematsu’s report carrying his statement.

Galvanic’s other reported releases include Some Distant Memory and Rapture Rejects. Morgan said the studio was founded in 2015.
What happened to the studio’s employees?
GeekWire reported on June 14, 2024 that ten employees were expected to lose their jobs. That was a contemporaneous expectation reported at the time of the closure announcement, not a verified final headcount or a record of later employment outcomes.
