CDKeys is now Loaded: the company announced the name change in August 2025, and says its digital game deals and delivery service continue under the new brand. If you’re looking for a lower-priced game code, compare the exact platform, edition, region, and current total price—and check the refund terms before revealing the code.
What is Loaded, and how does it work?
Loaded, formerly CDKeys, sells digital game codes and related products. A game key is an activation code delivered electronically; you redeem it on the relevant platform, then download the game. It is not a boxed copy or a disc.

Loaded says codes are delivered by email or through the customer’s account page, with redemption on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo. Those are the retailer’s descriptions of its service, not independent confirmation of product quality or every listing’s compatibility. See the CDKeys FAQ.
Loaded’s August 26, 2025 announcement said the name change would begin in September 2025. In a September 1, 2026 anniversary post, the company described a year under the Loaded name and said its focus on discounts, digital delivery, and games for different platforms would continue. Its announcement also noted that some publishers are moving from key redemption to direct platform redemption. That is the company’s observation, not a quantified industry-wide trend. Is CDKeys—or Loaded—legit?
Loaded is the current name of the store that many buyers know as CDKeys. That answers the identity question, but a retailer’s own description cannot establish that every listing will work for every account or that every purchase will suit your needs. Check the listing and the policies before buying, and treat savings or safety claims made by the seller as seller statements unless independently verified.
For example, CDKeys’ undated FAQ, accessed in 2026, estimates that customers save approximately £18, $21, or €20 per purchase. The FAQ does not provide a methodology for that estimate, so it should not be read as a guaranteed saving or a verified comparison with any particular store.

- MOVIES & TV SHOWS: Rent or buy new and popular movies and TV shows from a massive library.
- PERFECT GIFT: Great as a gift for a friend or yourself. Xbox Gift Cards are easy to use, never expire, and give the freedom to pick the gift they want. Enjoy more ways to play without a credit card attached to your Microsoft account.
How to check whether a game key will work for you
Compatibility depends on the particular product. Before paying, confirm the platform and edition, then check the listing’s region against both your location and the account where you plan to redeem the code. Loaded labels regions such as Worldwide, EU, UK, and US; do not assume that a key marked for one region will work elsewhere.
Steam says restrictions on CD keys vary by publisher, and advises buyers to ask the retailer about restrictions. If a key is out of territory, Steam directs the buyer to contact the seller. See Steam’s region-restriction guidance and Loaded’s region support page.

- THE PERFECT GAMING GIFT — Buy an XBOX Gift Card for yourself or a friend and let them choose the games, add‑ons, subscriptions, and accessories they want most.
- USE FOR GAMES & CONTENT — Redeem for thousands of digital XBOX games, from backward compatible classics to the latest new releases, plus DLC and in‑game currency.
- GAME PASS READY — Apply your balance toward XBOX Game Pass Ultimate to play new titles on day one* and access a library of hundreds of high‑quality console games.
- PRE‑ORDER & PRE‑INSTALL GAMES — Use your balance to pre‑order and pre‑download upcoming titles so you’re ready to play the moment they launch.
- NO FEES OR EXPIRATION — XBOX Gift Cards never expire and have no service fees, so your balance is ready whenever you are.
- Platform: Match the code to the platform you actually use, such as Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo.
- Edition: Check that it is the base game or the specific edition and included content you want.
- Region: Match the product’s region to your location and account. “Worldwide” or a regional label is product-specific, not a guarantee about every code in the store.
- Redemption method: Follow the listing’s instructions. Some products use a code; others may be delivered or redeemed directly through a platform.
How to compare a deal with another store
A lower headline price is only a saving if you can use the product you are buying. Compare like with like: the same game, platform, edition, region, and included content. Then compare the current total price, delivery and redemption steps, and the refund position before revealing the key.
Prices change, and no current like-for-like price comparison is established here. Check the exact listings at the time you buy rather than assuming Loaded is cheaper than an official store or another retailer.

- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.
- Redemption: Online
How to redeem a key
- Read the product listing before purchase. Confirm its platform, edition, region, and redemption instructions.
- Retrieve the code or delivery instructions. Loaded says codes may be available by email or in your account page; check the product-specific details.
- Open the relevant platform or service. Sign in to the account where you intend to use the game and follow that platform’s redemption flow, or use the direct-delivery instructions if the listing specifies them.
- Check the result before downloading. Confirm the redeemed game and edition match your purchase. If the code is rejected because of region or another listing issue, contact the retailer; Steam does not handle refunds for third-party key purchases.
What is the refund policy?
Loaded’s support page says a buyer may request a refund within seven calendar days if the key has not been revealed, redeemed, or activated. Requests are assessed individually; a request is not an automatic refund. Check the current Loaded refund policy before purchase, as policies can change.
Steam says it cannot refund purchases made outside Steam, including third-party CD keys. For a problem with a third-party purchase, the retailer is the relevant point of contact. See Steam’s guidance on revoked keys.
