What Nekome is promising
Nekome: Nazi Hunter is an unreleased single-player, third-person action game from ProbablyMonsters. Steam lists a planned PC launch in Q1 2027 and currently marks the game as unavailable. The announced story follows Vano Nastasu, a young Romani man whose family is murdered by Nazi soldiers. His revenge is the narrative basis for a game built around preparation, infiltration and violent close-quarters encounters.

A preparation-first revenge game
The announced loop is more deliberate than a straightforward cover shooter. You scout enemy routes, decide how to approach a location, place traps and then commit to an attack. The design asks you to create an advantage before combat begins, rather than treating stealth as merely a way to delay a firefight.
Enemy awareness is part of the plan
Steam also describes persistent shared enemy awareness, along with notoriety and fear systems. Those systems can make enemies panic, hesitate or flee. Game director and ProbablyMonsters general manager Jeronimo Barrera described the project to Gematsu on March 9, 2026, as one of his most personal narrative-driven projects. He said, “It’s a story where every design decision supports a single point of view.” That emphasis matters when choosing an alternative: the games below reproduce particular parts of Nekome’s design, not its exact historical story or perspective.

Where the match ends
Hitman is an assassination sandbox, not a historical revenge story. Its scenarios are designed around replayable target problems and experimentation, whereas Nekome’s announced premise follows one character’s response to a specific atrocity. Choose it for the pleasure of constructing a kill, not for an equivalent narrative or melee system.

The choice for a substantial narrative stealth campaign
PCGamesN describes Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 as a PC stealth-action collection offering more than 50 hours and a complex political narrative. It is the best alternative here if you want stealth to carry a long story with recurring themes, character relationships and escalating stakes.

Deathloop
For players who want stealth, fighting and puzzles in one loop
Deathloop takes place on Blackreef and combines stealth-action play with mission-solving. PCGamesN describes a game in which you can crouch past enemies, investigate objectives and also fight with abilities and weapons. That combination makes it suitable for players who do not want stealth to forbid direct action.
The game’s structure encourages experimentation. A quiet route, an ability-driven approach and an armed confrontation are all part of the same toolkit. When a plan fails, the failure is informative: it shows you something about a location, an enemy arrangement or the order in which objectives can be tackled.
The cost of its unusual structure
Blackreef’s time-loop premise and surreal tone are deliberately far from Nekome’s grounded WWII framing. PCGamesN identifies it among leading PC stealth games and emphasizes that players can choose how to proceed. That flexibility is valuable if Nekome’s scouting and trap-setting appeal to you as tools for solving a space, not merely as mandatory steps.
The defining difference is the setting and the power set. Supernatural abilities let you alter movement, positioning and encounters in ways that a grounded historical game cannot. The result is closer to an immersive simulation: you test the rules of a level, combine tools and decide how much danger or collateral consequence you are willing to accept.

“Investigation” can mean two very different activities. In Nekome, investigation is tied to scouting danger and planning an attack. In No Case Should Remain Unsolved, it means reconstructing a case from evidence. Steam describes connecting memory fragments, examining clues and testimony, and solving a missing-girl case.
There is little action combat. Your primary tools are attention, comparison and interpretation: identify which statements belong together, determine what a fragment implies and use the resulting chain of evidence to move the case forward.
Length and reception
A full playthrough is approximately 2–3 hours and includes 54 conversations, according to its Steam description. At access time in 2026, Steam showed 1,819 English reviews with 97% positive. That is a compact case-focused experience, not a replacement for a full stealth campaign, but its short length makes it an effective choice when deduction is the specific feature you want to play immediately.
Who should choose it
Select this game if your favorite part of Nekome’s premise is uncovering what happened and connecting clues. Do not select it expecting patrols, traps, takedowns or a combat loop; its investigation is the entire point.

Choose by the experience you want
If you want to plan an attack in an open-ended space
Start with Hitman: World of Assassination. Its disguises, sabotage options and sniping routes make the planning stage the main event. You will get the clearest substitute for turning reconnaissance into a deliberately engineered assassination.
If you want a long stealth story
Choose Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1. Its more-than-50-hour scope and political narrative provide the largest sustained commitment among these recommendations. The trade-off is an older, radar-based design and a collection format rather than a single contemporary campaign.
If you want to switch between stealth and combat
Choose Deathloop for a surreal, puzzle-like structure in which abilities and weapons are equally important. Choose Dishonored when you prefer a fantasy immersive sim built around powers and multiple routes. Both let you recover from a failed stealth attempt by changing tactics, but neither supplies Nekome’s historical tone.

Choose No Case Should Remain Unsolved. It is the only recommendation centered on memories, clues and testimony rather than enemy positioning. Its 2–3-hour length makes it a focused deduction story, not a substitute for a stealth-action campaign.
What to play before Nekome arrives
- Define the feature you are waiting for. Decide whether it is route scouting, trap-based preparation, enemy behavior, close combat, a serious revenge narrative or evidence-based investigation. No single alternative covers all of those elements.
- Match the structure to your available time. Select the collection-length commitment of Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 for a substantial campaign, or the approximately 2–3-hour case in No Case Should Remain Unsolved for a short investigation.
- Choose your tolerance for genre distance. Dishonored introduces supernatural powers, Deathloop uses a time loop and Hitman uses social assassination scenarios. Those differences are not flaws; they determine whether the game’s version of stealth appeals to you.
- Use the game to practice the right habit. In Hitman, practice observing access and timing. In Metal Gear Solid, practice reading detection information. In Deathloop and Dishonored, test alternate routes and recover from mistakes. In No Case Should Remain Unsolved, practice linking testimony to evidence.
- Reassess when Nekome launches. Its planned window is Q1 2027, and the design described by Steam may change before release. Treat the alternatives as ways to explore individual mechanics now, not as proof that any one game reproduces the finished product.
Availability and expectations for Nekome
As of 2026, Nekome: Nazi Hunter is not yet available and Steam has no user-review record for it. Gematsu reported on March 9, 2026, that the PC release is planned for both Steam and the Epic Games Store, alongside PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series platforms. The Q1 2027 window is a plan, not a guaranteed launch date, so the games in this guide are the practical choices while you wait.
Because the game is unreleased, there are no dependable sales figures, player-count statistics or review averages to use when judging it. The most concrete expectations remain its announced third-person perspective, scouting-and-trap loop, shared enemy awareness, notoriety and fear systems, and Vano Nastasu’s revenge story.

Hitman: World of Assassination is the best mechanical match for open-ended attack planning. Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 is the strongest substitute for a long, narrative-led stealth experience. Deathloop and Dishonored are better when you want powers, puzzles and combat flexibility. No Case Should Remain Unsolved is the right answer when investigation means reconstructing a mystery rather than hunting enemies.
