If you want a short, low-stress platinum after Stray, start with Astro’s Playroom if you own a PS5: its roadmap estimate is only 3–4 hours, it is rated 2/10 for difficulty, and it has no missable trophies. Astro Bot is the closest longer platforming follow-up, It Takes Two is a manageable story adventure if you have a partner, and A Plague Tale: Requiem suits players who value a heavier narrative more than a quick completion. Stray remains a strong benchmark, but its two-hour speedrun trophy requires planning.
The estimates below are roadmap-based targets rather than guarantees. Blind playthroughs, missed collectibles and time spent exploring can all extend them, so treat the hours as scheduling guidance.

What makes a game a good match for Stray?
Stray combines environmental exploration, light platforming, stealth, simple puzzles and a strongly guided story. Its appeal is less about difficult combat than about moving through a distinctive world, interacting with the environment and collecting items at your own pace. A comparable platinum therefore needs more than a low trophy count: it should have a forgiving difficulty curve, a clear route through the story and limited cleanup after the ending.

The table uses five practical tests: estimated platinum time, difficulty, missable-trophy risk, whether the full experience can be played solo, and how closely the mechanics or tone align with Stray. The published figures come from a 2026 TextFizz roundup that identifies PowerPyx roadmap headings and, for some entries, Stratege player data. They are estimates, and the roundup warns that unguided players commonly take longer than a roadmap run.

Stray: the baseline and the one trophy that changes your plan
PlayStation describes Stray as the story of a lost, injured cat that must untangle an ancient mystery to escape a forgotten city. It is a third-person adventure set in the neon alleys and seedy underbelly of a decaying cybercity, with stealth, environmental interaction and the drone B-12 as central features.
PowerPyx rates the platinum 3.5/10 and estimates six to eight hours. The offline list contains 25 trophies: one platinum, seven gold, nine silver and eight bronze. There are no online trophies, no difficulty settings and one missable trophy.
Why “I am Speed” is the planning risk
“I am Speed” requires completing the game in two hours or less. PowerPyx calls the limit generous, but it is still the only trophy that can invalidate an otherwise complete run. The reliable approach is to separate your goals:

- Use Chapter Select to clean up anything missed.
- Run the story again specifically for the speed trophy, following a route or roadmap instead of stopping to search.
PowerPyx’s planning split is roughly four to six hours for a collectible-focused playthrough followed by a 90-minute-to-two-hour speedrun. Because the game contains 67 collectibles, a guide can save substantial backtracking, while a blind run is likely to exceed the published total.

Astro’s Playroom: the safest ultra-short platinum
Astro’s Playroom is the clearest recommendation for a PS5 owner who wants a quick, forgiving completion. It combines four themed areas, light platforming, hidden routes and a large set of playful collectibles. Those ingredients mirror Stray‘s exploration loop without requiring stealth or a separate timed playthrough.
Why the trophy list is manageable
The roadmap reports no missable trophies, so you can progress naturally and return to stages for cleanup. A 2/10 difficulty rating also makes it suitable when your priority is a relaxed platinum rather than a demanding challenge. The short estimate assumes efficient play; experimenting with optional areas or searching without a checklist can add time.
Who should choose it
- Choose it when you own a PS5 and want the shortest option in this group.
- Choose it when you prefer platforming and collectibles to stealth.
- Choose it when you do not want to coordinate another player or protect a speedrun attempt.

What changes compared with Stray
The emphasis is on precise movement, varied platforming challenges and level-by-level discovery rather than stealth, environmental mystery or a cyberpunk setting. The clean trophy list means you can concentrate on enjoying stages and then revisit them for anything you overlooked, rather than reserving a separate speedrun session.
Best use case
Select Astro Bot if Stray made you want more exploration and traversal but you are comfortable with a completion that takes roughly twice as long as the shortest options here. It is also a better fit than a narrative stealth game when you want constant mechanical variety and a forgiving trophy plan.
It Takes Two: manageable trophies, mandatory co-op
It Takes Two is estimated at 11–15 hours and rated 3/10, with no missable trophies in the cited roadmap. The important qualification is structural: the entire game requires a second player. It is not a solo adventure with optional multiplayer; every chapter is designed around two characters cooperating.

Why Stray players may enjoy it
Like Stray, it is a guided story journey built around environmental interaction. Instead of controlling one agile animal in a city, each player receives different abilities and must solve cooperative platforming and puzzle sequences. The constant change of mechanics keeps the campaign moving and makes the trophy hunt feel integrated with normal play.

- Fast loading: Initial loading times are near instant, and seamless after the first instance thanks to the PS5 console’s SSD – so you can pick up where you left off in the story and load specific encounters and chapters more quickly.
- Haptic feedback: DualSense wireless controller haptic feedback support for every weapon elevates combat encounters, and environments are brought to life through DualSense wireless controller haptic sensations of subtle falling rain, the crunch of stepping on snow and more.
- Adaptive triggers: All The Last of Us iconic weapons, including Joel’s revolver and Ellie’s bow, now deliver dynamic DualSense wireless controller trigger resistance and kickback on firing for deeper combat immersion.
- 3D Audio: Designed to make use of the PS5 console’s Tempest 3D AudioTech, Naughty Dog’s newly upgraded audio engine delivers richer soundscapes, bigger explosive moments and more visceral gameplay through compatible stereo headphones (analogue or USB) or TV speakers.
Plan the completion around your partner
- Agree on regular sessions before starting; the campaign cannot be completed alone.
- Use chapter replay for trophy cleanup after finishing a section.
- Expect the estimate to vary with communication, failed puzzle attempts and time spent exploring optional interactions.
Pick this one only if the co-op requirement is a feature rather than a restriction. For a solo player, one of the other four games is a more practical recommendation.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.A Plague Tale: Requiem: the story-first alternative
A Plague Tale: Requiem occupies a different scale. The estimate is 20–25 hours, the difficulty rating is 3/10, and the roadmap identifies three missable trophies. It is therefore not a substitute for a quick platinum, but it can satisfy readers who liked Stray‘s atmosphere, character-led progression and movement through dangerous environments.
What makes it a different commitment
The longer campaign gives the narrative more room to develop and asks you to manage stealth, tools and encounters across a broader journey. The three missables mean you should consult a chapter roadmap before playing if you want a single efficient completion. A blind first run followed by cleanup may require replaying substantial sections.
When it is the right choice
Choose Requiem when story and mood matter more than finishing in one evening. Its 3/10 rating keeps the mechanical challenge moderate, but the campaign length and missable-trophy planning make it the least “quick and easy” option in this shortlist.
How to choose your next platinum
Choose by available play time
- One short session: Astro’s Playroom has the smallest published window.
- A compact weekend: Stray or It Takes Two fit, depending on whether you are playing alone or with a partner.
- A longer single-player campaign: Astro Bot adds more platforming, while A Plague Tale: Requiem adds more narrative weight.
Choose by trophy risk
If you want to avoid missables entirely, the cited roadmaps list none for Astro’s Playroom, Astro Bot and It Takes Two. Stray has one timed missable, and Requiem has three. A no-missables list is not automatically effortless—collectibles and optional objectives can still require a guide—but it removes the danger of permanently locking yourself out during a normal run.
Choose by player count
Solo players can complete Stray, Astro’s Playroom, Astro Bot and A Plague Tale: Requiem. It Takes Two is the outlier: its full campaign depends on a second player, so availability matters more than its low difficulty rating.
Quick Recap
A practical roadmap for a clean platinum
- Confirm your platform and edition. Check whether the current listing is for PS4, PS5 or both, and verify regional availability before buying.
- Decide whether you are using a guide. Collectible-heavy games reward a chapter checklist; a blind run is more relaxed but usually takes longer than the published estimate.
- Mark every missable objective before starting. For Stray, reserve a separate speedrun attempt. For A Plague Tale: Requiem, note all three missables in the chapters where they occur.
- Finish the story before broad cleanup unless the roadmap says otherwise. Chapter Select is useful in Stray, and replayable chapters can reduce unnecessary full replays in the other guided adventures.
- Keep your own time buffer. Roadmap figures often describe an efficient, informed route. Add extra time for exploration, retries, puzzle solving and learning unfamiliar levels.
Final recommendation by player type
- Fastest, safest PS5 choice: Astro’s Playroom.
- Closest mechanical follow-up to Stray: Astro Bot if you want more platforming and exploration.
- Best if you specifically want Stray itself: follow a collectible plan, then schedule the “I am Speed” run separately.
- Best shared adventure: It Takes Two, provided a co-op partner is available for the entire campaign.
- Best narrative-heavy option: A Plague Tale: Requiem, accepting its longer runtime and three missables.
