What it is

AI War: Fleet Command is a real-time strategy game about a human resistance facing machine forces across a galaxy. Players command a small fleet against far larger AI forces, with the aim of reaching and destroying guarded AI cores. The resistance's opening depends on subduing AI subcommanders without drawing central command's attention too soon. Ships move faster than the enemy, while automated routines can handle defenses and mining outposts; production can also turn out equipped unmanned fighters. Players can seize planets and steal AI technology, but attracting too much attention brings the full force of the AI overlords into play. The game supports single-player and multiplayer, including online and LAN co-op, and lists cross-platform multiplayer. Developed and published by Arcen Games, it was released in 2009 for Windows, macOS and Linux.
