What it is

Grand Ages: Rome is a city-building and real-time strategy game from Haemimont Games, set in the Roman Empire. As governor of a Roman province, you build an economy, trade with other cultures, meet the needs of your people, and defend against barbarian tribes. Choose among five Roman noble families, each with different abilities, and lead a non-linear single-player campaign spanning 40 missions.

The game combines an enhanced multilevel economy with sea trade, research, naval warfare, and island colonization. Battles use an RTS-like system, with 18 warfare abilities available to units such as Praetorians, War Elephants, and Triarii. Locations include Cyrene, Lugdunum, and Rome, while a character development system follows a historical timeline. Grand Ages: Rome was released in 2009 and is available on Windows. Steam features listed are single-player and Family Sharing.
