What it is
Medieval Lords: Soldier Kings of Europe is a grand-strategy game from Strategic Simulations set between 1028 and 1530. You advise a ruler across six historical scenarios, shaping political, economic, and military affairs at home and abroad to establish and expand an empire across Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. Rulers include emperors, kings, emirs, sultans, khans, caliphs, and dukes. Diplomacy and power plays include proposing alliances, undermining rival nobles, awarding territory, building castles, and declaring war. Random events with historical grounding, including Crusades, the Black Plague, Mongol invasions, and papal declarations of heresy, can alter the course of a campaign. The game is single-player and supports Steam Cloud and Family Sharing. It was originally released in 1991 and is also listed for Commodore 64 and DOS; the Steam release is for Windows.
