What it is
Record of Agarest War Zero is a strategy role-playing game from Idea Factory and a prequel to Agarest: Generations of War. Its story begins in a world created by gods of light and darkness, where generations of conflict have left the land scarred. Sieghart, an officer serving the armies of light, meets a strange girl while on a dangerous mission, setting events in motion. The game follows the struggle across multiple generations, with a choice between paths of light and darkness. Its turn-based battles feature army building, Extra Skills, Special Arts and Over Kills against large enemies. A Card Skill System lets players shape the hero’s persona, while the Soul Breed System connects the current story to the next generation. The Steam version is for Windows and includes single-player, achievements, full controller support, trading cards, cloud saves, leaderboards and Family Sharing.
