Tropico 3 is a business simulation and strategy game from Haemimont Games, released in 2009 for Windows and macOS. You govern a remote island during the Cold War, balancing political survival with the direction of its economy. Shape your rule as a generous leader or a corrupt tyrant, seek votes with election speeches, and use charm, persuasion, intimidation, or other means to stay in power. You can develop the island as a tourist destination or an industrial center, and play the Cold War superpowers against each other. Its 15-mission campaign is joined by a random map generator and a timeline editor. The customizable avatar is under your control, and can visit another player's island or interact with people on your own.
