When and where was GamesBeat Summit 2024?
The 16th annual GamesBeat event ran May 20–21, 2024, at the Marina del Rey Marriott in Los Angeles. The dates and venue were published in GamesBeat’s agenda and event announcement. This is a retrospective: the event has passed, so its program and historical details should not be mistaken for current ticket or travel information.
What was the summit about?
“Resilience and Adaptation” was the summit’s theme. GamesBeat positioned the gathering against an industry facing market strain and organizational change. In a May 14, 2024 statement, GamesBeat journalist Dean Takahashi said the program would address adapting to a rapidly changing world, including GenAI, games and Hollywood cross-media adaptations, and layoffs.
GamesBeat’s agenda used the figure of 20,000 layoffs over the preceding year and a half as context for the event. That is the publisher’s framing, not an independently verified labor-market count.

What attendance figures did GamesBeat report?
In its 2024 event coverage, GamesBeat said the prior year’s Los Angeles event had more than 900 attendees. That is an organizer-reported historical figure, not an independently audited attendance count, and it describes the 2023 event rather than GamesBeat Summit 2024.
