There is no separate 2026 Gamescom Asia versus Thailand Game Show choice. The two events have merged into gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show, held at Bangkok’s Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) from 29 October to 1 November 2026. Choose 29–30 October for business meetings, conference sessions and industry networking. Choose 30 October–1 November for demos, showcases, cosplay, live content, tournaments and fan activities. If you need both, select a pass whose published entitlements include both the business and entertainment areas.
The 2026 decision in one glance
Your best dates depend on what you want to accomplish, not on choosing between two separate venues. The official 2026 schedule divides the joint Bangkok event into a professional program and a public entertainment program, with one overlap day.

| Your priority | Best dates | What you can expect |
|---|---|---|
| Developer, publisher, investor, service-provider or recruiter meetings | 29–30 October 2026 | Business-area access, conference content and structured industry networking |
| Trade media or professional market discovery | 29–30 October 2026 | Industry conversations and conference sessions; confirm the credential required for your role |
| Game demos, showcases and live entertainment | 30 October–1 November 2026 | Entertainment area, performances, tournaments and community programming |
| Cosplay, creator activities or a family gaming day | 30 October–1 November 2026 | Consumer-focused activities and fan programming |
| Both professional meetings and fan programming | Usually 30 October, or a longer stay spanning both blocks | Only with a pass that explicitly grants both types of access |
The overlap on 30 October is important: it is the only date listed in both the business/conference and entertainment schedules. An entertainment ticket does not substitute for a business credential, and a standard business visitor ticket does not automatically include the entertainment area.

Why Gamescom Asia and Thailand Game Show are now one Bangkok event
In February 2025, the organizers announced that gamescom asia would move to Bangkok after four Singapore editions and join Thailand Game Show. The partnership combines gamescom asia’s international business platform with Thailand Game Show’s large consumer showcase. The organizer describes the result as “the merger of the two powerhouse events: gamescom asia and Thailand Game Show.”
#1 Best Overall
- [CHOOSE YOUR THEME] Select "Birthday Pink" for elegant glitter party passes perfect for girls, spas, and red-carpet events, OR choose the "Hunter/Gamer" editions for immersive dark anime and system level-up themes.
- [PREMIUM ENVELOPES] Stand out from generic white envelopes. Our Movie/Gamer sets include 20 Luxurious Black Envelopes with Gold Borders, while the Birthday Pink set features 20 Creative "Open-Window" Sleeves that elegantly reveal the inner ticket.
- [HEAVYWEIGHT QUALITY] Both styles are crafted from 250g matte cardstock designed for a premium feel and easy writing. The thick paper prevents bending, and the non-glossy finish ensures your handwritten event details dry instantly without smudging.
- [STUNNING VISUAL EFFECTS] Elevate your invitations with style-specific details. The Birthday edition features real Hot Stamping Gold Foil text for a luxury shimmer, whereas the Gamer and Movie editions utilize high-definition printing to simulate glowing neon lights.
- [COMPLETE PARTY KIT] Every set includes 20 Invitation Tickets and 20 Matching Envelopes or Sleeves. Perfectly sized to fit in pockets or wallets like real event passes, making them ideal for kids, teens, and adults hosting any themed celebration.
That change answers the question “Is Gamescom Asia still in Singapore?” for the current schedule: the 2026 edition is listed in Bangkok, not as a separate Singapore event. It also changes how you should interpret older guides. A page describing a Singapore trade show and a separate Bangkok consumer show may accurately describe an earlier year, but it is not a description of the 2026 program.
The partnership is intended to serve two audiences in one event. Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director and VP of Asia Pacific at Koelnmesse, called it “a game-changer for the region’s games industry.” Pongsuk Hiranprueck, founder of Thailand Game Show, said the partnership would build on what Thailand Game Show had been doing for 18 years. Those statements describe the organizers’ purpose; your practical choice still comes down to access rights, dates and the outcome you want from the trip.
What each event contributed before the merger
The organizers’ 2024 figures show why the combination was attractive, although the measures are not identical. gamescom asia reported more than 40,000 attendees from 78 countries and 177 exhibitors. Thailand Game Show reported more than 185,000 visitors and 50 exhibitors. “Attendees” and “visitors” are different labels, and the reports do not establish a single methodology for comparing the totals directly, so treat these as directional context rather than a controlled size comparison.
| 2024 edition | Reported attendance | Reported international reach | Reported exhibitors | What the figure signals |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| gamescom asia | Over 40,000 attendees | 78 countries | 177 | A comparatively international, trade-oriented platform |
| Thailand Game Show | Over 185,000 visitors | Not stated | 50 | A large consumer-facing showcase with strong local draw |
The merger is therefore not simply a rebrand. It places a professional meeting program and a mass-market fan event in the same Bangkok destination, while keeping their access rules distinct.
What the inaugural joint event tells you about scale
The first combined event in 2025 provides the clearest indication of what the Bangkok format can contain. gamescom asia / Koelnmesse reported the following results:
| 2025 measure | Reported result | How to use it when planning |
|---|---|---|
| Total attendance | 206,159 attendees from 95 countries | Expect a genuinely international event with a substantial public audience |
| Business visitors | 5,590 from 81 countries | Professional networking is a defined part of the event, not an incidental side program |
| Exhibitors and pavilions | 294 | Allow time to research exhibitors and prioritize meetings before arrival |
| Indie games | More than 200 | Entertainment visitors and scouts can find a broad selection beyond major publishers |
| Speakers | 71 across four stages | Conference and stage schedules require choices; you cannot see everything in one pass |
| Event space | 30,000 square metres | Wear practical footwear and build buffer time between appointments or stages |
| Steam Festival reach | 8 million hits | The event’s discovery program extends online beyond the physical venue |
These are organizer-reported 2025 results, not a promise that every 2026 number will be the same. They do establish that the joint format is large enough to require advance prioritization. A business visitor with six meetings, for example, should not assume that the entertainment floor can be added casually between appointments. A fan should likewise expect a full convention environment rather than a small local showcase.
How the 2026 program is split
The official schedule places the business area and conference on 29–30 October. The entertainment area runs from 30 October through 1 November. This creates three practical visit patterns:
| Pattern | Dates | Best for | Access issue to resolve |
|---|---|---|---|
| Professional block | 29–30 October | Meetings, conference sessions, recruiting, investment conversations and trade coverage | You need an industry-appropriate business or conference credential |
| Entertainment block | 30 October–1 November | Demos, showcases, cosplay, tournaments, live performances and community activities | You need an entertainment ticket for the public area |
| Combined trip | At least 30 October, often several days | Professionals who also want the fan program, or visitors combining work and leisure | Confirm that your exact pass includes both areas; do not infer this from the word “business” alone |
Because the programs overlap only on 30 October, a single-day visitor should choose that date only after checking the detailed timetable. It may be useful for sampling both sides, but simultaneous meetings and stage events can force difficult trade-offs.
Choose the business and conference days if your outcome is professional
Who benefits most
- Game developers seeking publishers, co-development partners or service providers.
- Publishers and investors evaluating projects, studios or regional opportunities.
- Technology, outsourcing, localization, platform, marketing and other game-industry suppliers arranging meetings.
- Recruiters and candidates attending for hiring conversations.
- Trade journalists and analysts who need structured industry content and access to professional contacts.
The business area is for industry professionals only. That restriction matters even if you have a general entertainment ticket: the public ticket does not grant entry to the professional area. Plan your credential before booking flights, because an otherwise well-timed trip can fail at the entrance if you arrive with the wrong ticket type.
What to prepare
- Define the specific result you want from the event, such as five publisher introductions, a shortlist of regional service partners or a set of reported conference sessions.
- Review the exhibitor and conference information when the 2026 listings are published and request meetings early.
- Carry the professional identification or registration details required by the organizer for your ticket category.
- Leave travel time between appointments. The 2025 event occupied 30,000 square metres, so a meeting listed back-to-back with a stage session may not be physically realistic.
The 2026 exhibitor list and ticket prices were not published on the official pages reviewed. Use the official ticket and business-registration pages for current inventory, prices and eligibility rather than relying on a prior-year pass or an unofficial listing.

Choose the entertainment days if your outcome is the fan experience
Who belongs in this block
- Players who want hands-on demos and game showcases.
- Cosplayers and photography communities looking for a large public convention environment.
- Creators and streamers covering live programming and community activities.
- Families and groups who want an accessible day of games, performances and tournaments.
- Visitors interested in indie discovery as well as major releases.
The entertainment area is scheduled for 30 October–1 November. The 2025 event’s more than 200 indie games, four stages and reported 206,159 total attendees indicate a broad public program, but they do not guarantee that a particular title, creator or performance will appear in 2026. Treat announcements and the final timetable as the authority for your personal must-see list.

- Mark the non-negotiable demos, stage appearances, tournaments or cosplay activities from the published timetable.
- Group activities by area where the map allows it, reducing cross-floor walks.
- Reserve breaks for queues, food and meeting friends; a packed schedule can make you miss the items you came to see.
- Check any age, photography or participation rules attached to individual activities before you travel.
An entertainment ticket does not provide entry to the business area. If you are a professional who also wants public programming, select a pass with explicit entertainment access instead of assuming that any industry registration covers it.
Understand the pass rules before buying
The access model is the most common source of confusion because “business,” “conference,” “VIP” and “entertainment” describe different entitlements.
| Pass or ticket category | Business area | Conference | Entertainment area | Use with caution |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Entertainment ticket | No | No professional access stated | Yes | It cannot be used to enter the business area |
| Business visitor ticket | Yes, for eligible industry visitors | Business program access; exact sessions depend on the ticket | No | Do not assume the fan area is included |
| Conference-delegate ticket | Confirm the detailed entitlement | Yes, according to the selected package | Yes | The official schedule says conference-delegate tickets include entertainment access; check the current package for all professional-area rights |
| VIP ticket | Confirm the detailed entitlement | According to the selected package | Yes | The official schedule says VIP tickets include entertainment access; verify the complete 2026 benefits list |
The safest rule is to read the entitlement line for the exact 2026 product before payment. A business visitor ticket and a conference-delegate ticket are not interchangeable, and the fact that both are sold to professionals does not establish identical access. Ticket prices and final inventory were not stated on the official pages reviewed, so check the organizer’s current ticket page for the amount, sales period and remaining categories.

“I need meetings with studios, publishers or suppliers.”
Choose the 29–30 October professional block and register as the industry category that matches your role. Build your schedule around confirmed meetings first, then add conference sessions. If you also want public demos, buy only a package that explicitly includes entertainment access.

“I am attending a conference session but also want the fan floor.”
Look first at conference-delegate or VIP options, because the official schedule says those include entertainment access. Confirm the specific package and date coverage before purchase; a generic business visitor ticket does not include the entertainment area.
“I am a player, cosplayer or creator with no industry credential.”
Choose an entertainment ticket for 30 October–1 November. There is no benefit in paying for a professional category you cannot use, and an entertainment ticket is the route designed for the public program.
“I want to scout indie games and report on the regional market.”
A combined professional package is the most efficient fit if your work requires business meetings as well as hands-on discovery. The 2025 event reported more than 200 indie games and 5,590 business visitors from 81 countries, so allocate separate blocks for interviews and floor exploration rather than treating them as the same activity.
“I can attend only one day.”
Pick 29 October for the most concentrated business and conference start, 31 October or 1 November for a purely public visit, and 30 October only if you specifically need the overlap. Check the timetable before committing to 30 October: the two programs may compete for your time even though they run at the same venue.

Is the Bangkok event worth flying to?
That is a value decision rather than a universal yes or no. The event is at QSNCC in central Bangkok, which the venue describes as convenient for international visitors. The location makes a combined business-and-entertainment trip practical in principle, but your personal calculation should include airfare, accommodation, visa or entry requirements, local transport, time away from work and the number of meetings or activities you can realistically complete.
When the trip is easier to justify
- You have confirmed meetings that would be difficult to arrange remotely.
- Your role benefits from concentrated access to international exhibitors and regional contacts.
- You want both the professional and public programs and can stay across the overlapping dates.
- You are already traveling to Bangkok for work, study or another event and can add the convention.
When a local or online option may be better
- You have no specific meetings, sessions or showcases that require attendance in person.
- Your only goal is general gaming news that can be followed through official announcements and online coverage.
- The travel cost or entry requirements exceed the value of the activities you have identified.
- You can attend only an access-restricted program that does not match your purpose.
The 2025 Steam Festival’s 8 million reported hits also show that some discovery extends online. That does not replicate meetings, hands-on floor access or live community activities, but it can reduce the need to fly if your goal is simply to sample games.
A practical planning checklist
For business visitors and conference delegates
- Choose 29–30 October in your travel plan.
- Identify the correct professional registration category and read its access rights.
- Check whether your package includes the entertainment area if you want public programming.
- Arrange meetings before arrival and leave buffer time for movement through QSNCC.
- Build a conference schedule with priorities, backups and time for follow-up conversations.
- Recheck the official ticket page, business-registration page and timetable shortly before departure for changes in inventory or access.
For entertainment visitors
- Choose 30 October–1 November and purchase the public ticket covering your intended date.
- Mark the demos, stages, tournaments and community activities that matter most.
- Check queue, age and participation information for special activities when published.
- Plan meeting points with companions; a large event can make mobile coordination unreliable.
- Allow time for indie discovery, food and rest instead of filling every minute with stage slots.
- Keep your ticket confirmation available at entry and do not expect it to open the business area.
For a combined professional and fan trip
- Start with the professional objective, because business meetings often require advance scheduling.
- Select conference-delegate or VIP options only after confirming both professional and entertainment entitlements.
- Use 30 October as the potential crossover day, but avoid booking simultaneous meetings and headline activities.
- If the schedules cannot fit in one day, stay for additional entertainment dates through 1 November.
- Budget for the full trip rather than assuming a professional registration includes every event feature.
Mistakes that can derail the visit
- Booking for Singapore: the current 2026 schedule is in Bangkok after gamescom asia’s four Singapore editions.
- Assuming the names describe separate shows: the 2026 program is a joint event, so compare program blocks and access rights instead.
- Buying the wrong ticket: entertainment tickets do not open the business area, and business visitor tickets do not automatically include entertainment access.
- Using a 2025 figure as a 2026 guarantee: attendance, exhibitor counts and stage lineups can change; use the 2025 results as scale context only.
- Waiting for prices on an old page: 2026 ticket prices and the complete exhibitor list were not stated on the official pages reviewed. Check the live official sales page.
- Overloading the schedule: a 30,000-square-metre venue and concurrent stages make generous transition time essential.
How to make the final choice
Write down the single outcome that would make the trip worthwhile. If it is a signed meeting list, a conference agenda or market intelligence, select the 29–30 October professional block. If it is a day of games, performances, cosplay and community activities, select 30 October–1 November. If both outcomes matter, treat pass entitlement as the deciding factor and verify it on the current 2026 ticket page before booking travel.
