The cooler can help a phone stay cooler during sustained, demanding play, but it also makes the X3 Pro bulky, externally powered and less convenient than a conventional controller. At the $79.99 price shown on GameSir’s U.S. product page on August 16, 2026, it makes sense primarily for hot-running phones, long sessions and emulation—not as a universal upgrade for every mobile gamer.
What the GameSir X3 Pro actually is
The X3 Pro is a wired, telescopic Android gamepad with an integrated active cooler. Its built-in USB-C connector carries controller input to the phone. A separate USB-C power connection runs the cooler and can pass power through to the phone, so “charge and cool” still depends on a wall charger or sufficiently capable power bank.
Unlike a Bluetooth controller, it has no pairing process and no internal battery. The package includes a carry case, removable control components and access to GameSir’s customization app. There are no rear buttons or paddles.
- Hall-effect analog sticks
- Micro-switch face buttons and triggers
- Dual rumble motors
- Six-axis gyroscope
- 3.5 mm headphone jack
- Removable stick caps, D-pad, face-button caps and grip pieces
GameSir lists a 110–180 mm (4.33–7.09 in) supported device length. The listed dimensions are 207.46 × 93.27 × 57.38 mm. Its product page reports 767.2 g as gross weight, which may include packaging; it should not be treated as the confirmed bare-controller weight. See the official X3 Pro page for the current specification and availability.

- CUSHIONED MEMBRANE CONTROLS — COMFORTABLE & QUIETER: Cushioned membrane buttons and triggers provide comfortable feedback for repeated inputs while keeping operation quieter. Ideal for extended sessions or gaming in shared spaces.
Why the cooler is different
The X3 Pro is not merely blowing air across the back of a phone. A Peltier module transfers heat away from the phone-contact surface, while a fan removes the heat generated on the module’s other side. GameSir specifies a 900 mm² cooling area and up to 12 W of cooling power. Those are manufacturer ratings, not a promise of a particular temperature or frame rate in every phone and game.
The cooling plate can be adjusted behind the phone. Effective contact matters: a thick case, camera bump or unusual phone shape can reduce contact or prevent the handset from fitting at all.
Does active cooling improve gaming?
Independent reviews broadly found that the semiconductor cooler works. Pocket Gamer reported reasonable temperatures during demanding play including Alien: Isolation. Testing of GameSir’s earlier X3 cooling design by Android Authority likewise found that the Peltier system could reduce heat, while noting the power penalty. Pocket Tactics found the fan useful but considered the overall design bulky and inconvenient to power.

It introduces powerful new features such as gyro settings, stick curve adjustments, and button-to-mouse mapping, giving you deeper customization and more control than ever before.
Cooler operation can reduce the phone’s rear-surface temperature and may help limit thermal throttling during sustained workloads. It does not guarantee higher FPS: a game’s frame-rate cap, GPU limits or network performance remain unchanged. Longer battery life is not guaranteed either, because the cooler itself consumes power. Fan noise also varies with output; user reports describe it as noticeable at higher settings, but no standardized noise measurement is established.
For cloud gaming, cooling can make a hot phone more comfortable, but it cannot fix a poor connection or remove streaming latency. Gamepad support still depends on the service, game and operating system.
How the controls feel and where they fit
Hall-effect sticks
Hall-effect sensors avoid the resistive potentiometer used in many conventional sticks, reducing one common cause of drift. They are not a lifetime guarantee: mechanical wear, contamination, calibration faults or other electronics can still produce problems.

Micro-switch controls
The buttons and triggers are crisp and clicky rather than soft and membrane-like. That immediacy can suit shooters and action games, while players who prefer quiet, cushioned controls may find them tiring over long sessions.
Customization, rumble and motion
Swappable caps, D-pad, button caps and grips let you tune the layout. Rumble and six-axis motion broaden its usefulness for supported games and emulators. However, the X3 Pro has no rear buttons and no analog triggers. That matters for racing and driving games, and for emulator mappings that rely on extra rear inputs.

The portability trade-off
Cooling hardware undermines the compact, grab-and-play advantage of ordinary telescopic controllers. Reviews consistently identify the X3 Pro as bulky. It takes more bag space than a Backbone-style pad, can be uncomfortable for users seeking a lightweight setup and requires a cable whenever active cooling is wanted.

The cooler may add little value for casual games, turn-based titles, short sessions, cool rooms or phones that do not throttle. A protective case may need to be removed before the phone can sit flat against the plate.

GameSir’s main listing currently says Android compatibility and specifies the 110–180 mm physical range. Other GameSir pages and marketing images mention USB-C iPhones, including iPhone 15 and 16 models. Because those official signals differ, do not assume universal iPhone support. Check the current manual/support information for your exact phone, operating-system version, regional edition and case.
Physical length alone is not enough. The USB-C port, camera bump, side buttons and case must all align with the controller. Wired input generally avoids Bluetooth transmission and pairing concerns, but no exact latency figure is established here.

Who should buy the X3 Pro?
It is a good fit when:
- Your phone becomes hot or throttles in demanding 3D games.
- You regularly emulate systems or play for long periods.
- You want cooling integrated into the controller rather than carrying a separate accessory.
- You like clicky micro-switch controls and Hall-effect sticks.

- You accept extra bulk, cable dependence and possible fan noise.
Choose something else when:
- Portability or wireless play matters most.
- You mainly play casual or short-session games.
- Your phone rarely gets hot.
- You need rear buttons or analog triggers.
- You use a thick case that cannot be removed.
- You want the simplest possible plug-in setup.
Alternatives by use case
| Priority | Better direction | What changes |
|---|---|---|
| Integrated cooling | GameSir X3 Pro | Peltier cooler built into the wired controller; external power required. |
| Conventional ergonomics | GameSir G8 Galileo | GameSir’s collection showed $59.99, reduced from $79.99 when checked; it is a comfort-focused alternative, not a cooling solution. |
| Wireless flexibility | GameSir X4 Aileron | Listed at $99.99; its value is the different wireless-oriented design, not integrated thermal management. |
| Lower cost | GameSir X2s | The Bluetooth model was listed at $44.99; simpler and lighter, but without active cooling. |
| Flexible cooling placement | Separate phone cooler plus preferred controller | Lets you choose comfort independently, but adds another device, cable, mount and compatibility issue. |
Prices and stock signals can change by date, edition and region. The official X3 Pro page showed $79.99 and a “Stock Adequate! Ready to ship” signal on August 16, 2026; verify the live listing before ordering. The separate Deadpool edition was shown at $99.99 and sold out on its official page when checked.
Verdict
The X3 Pro earns the “coolest” label as a description of its integrated Peltier technology, not as proof that it is GameSir’s best controller in every category. Its cooling appears genuinely useful for sustained, high-load play, and its sticks and clicky controls are substantial strengths. The same hardware makes it heavier, noisier, less portable and dependent on external power.
Buy it because your phone’s heat is a real problem and you value an all-in-one solution. If you mainly want comfortable controls, wireless freedom or a small bag-friendly accessory, a conventional controller—or a separate cooler paired with your favorite pad—will usually be the more sensible direction.
