What GameStop Canada announced
GameStop Canada posted its update at 11:46 a.m. ET / 8:46 a.m. PT on April 25, 2025. It said: “We’ve rebalanced our remaining Mario Kart Switch 2 Bundle pre-order stock. All stores across Canada have availability as of this morning.” MobileSyrup reported the statement and identified the offer as the Mario Kart World bundle.

“All stores” was GameStop Canada’s description of where availability could be found after it rebalanced its remaining stock. The statement did not give unit counts, say that stores had equal quantities, or promise stock would last throughout the day. It also concerned the Mario Kart World bundle, not necessarily every Switch 2 configuration.
Price and preorder terms reported at the time
MobileSyrup reported that the Mario Kart World bundle was priced at $699 and required a $300 deposit to preorder at GameStop Canada in April 2025. Those are historical terms for the reported offer, not current pricing or confirmation that the same preorder is still open.

What the announcement meant for shoppers
For shoppers checking on April 25, 2025, the retailer’s update suggested that in-store availability had returned across its Canadian locations that morning. MobileSyrup advised readers to use GameStop Canada’s in-store availability tool. That guidance applied to checking the reported allocation at the time; it cannot establish what any store has in stock now.
GameStop Canada and EB Games Canada’s Switch 2 signup page stated that pre-orders were available in limited quantities at stores across Canada, that a deposit was required, and that the console’s launch date was June 5, 2025. The page provides launch context but does not verify the April 25 allocation or current store inventory.

Does the 2025 preorder remain available?
The April 25 report is a historical availability update, not a live stock notice. GameStop Canada’s current Switch 2 product page lists consoles and related categories, including games, controllers, eShop and accessories, but that product information does not confirm the old preorder allocation or availability at a particular location. Check the retailer’s current listings or contact a store for present-day inventory.
