But a GameStop listing result retrieved the next day showed those conditions at $850.24, so the higher figure should be treated as a dated report, not the current price.
What GameStop reportedly charged on October 6
Insider Gaming’s Mike Straw reported on October 6, 2026, that GameStop’s website had no new PS5 Pro available and listed pre-owned and refurbished units at $1,399.99. The report said GameStop Pro members could pay $1,329.99. It also said GameStop had not explained the prices; that is the report’s account, not an independently established company-wide statement. Insider Gaming’s report is the source for those October 6 figures.

At $1,399.99, the reported price was $500 above Sony’s U.S. recommended retail price of $899.99. The reported Pro-member price was $430 above it. Sony announced the $899.99 price on March 27, 2026, effective April 2; it is a recommended retail price, not a guarantee of availability or the price every seller charges. Sony’s pricing announcement gives the official benchmark.
GameStop’s listing result the following day was different
A GameStop product-listing result retrieved October 7, 2026 showed new units at $899.99 and pre-owned and refurbished units at $850.24. That conflicts with the $1,399.99 and $1,329.99 prices Insider Gaming reported the day before. The available evidence does not establish why the figures differ. The listing result is a dated snapshot, and prices or availability may change or vary by location. Check GameStop’s PS5 Pro listing for the price and stock shown for your purchase.
