For a community-reported generic PC keyboard-and-mouse layout, use WASD to move, Space to jump, and the listed combat keys below as a starting point. The mapping comes from a Steam Community post dated December 24, 2017, whose author warned that it might be out of date, so check the controls display in your installed game if a key does not work.
Gang Beasts keyboard and mouse controls
The following inputs are reported in a Steam Community discussion as a generic PC layout. They are not confirmed as the current default bindings.

The Steam Community post is dated December 24, 2017, and its author specifically cautions that the controls may have changed since earlier versions. Treat the table as a reference to try, not a verified current key map.
How to confirm or change a key that does not work
Look at the controls display in the copy of Gang Beasts you have installed and follow its current prompts. The available official material does not publish a key-by-key keyboard map or confirm the current settings interface, so exact menu labels and remapping steps cannot be stated reliably here.

- If a listed input fails, check the in-game control display rather than assuming the old community mapping is current.
- Distinguish keyboard and mouse inputs from controller prompts; a controller button shown in the interface does not establish that keyboard play is unavailable.
What official sources say about keyboard and controller support
The Gang Beasts official FAQ says, “Gang Beasts uses the Rewired framework for controller support on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.” That confirms desktop controller support, but the FAQ does not list keyboard bindings or say a controller is required for keyboard play.
The official developer posts index includes historical development notes about keyboard, mouse, and controller input references and UI input-mapping sequences. Those notes are not confirmation of what the current in-game controls display contains. Likewise, the Update 1.24 post, dated August 22, 2024, describes a release primarily focused on bug fixes; it does not specify keyboard bindings.
