Garry Newman said the Skibidi Toilet-related DMCA matter involving Garry’s Mod was resolved after series creator Alexey Gerasimov contacted him. Newman’s confirmation was reported by Gizmodo on July 31, 2024, citing a statement to IGN. The public account does not identify who sent the original notice or explain the terms of the resolution.
What Newman said about the resolution
Newman’s update was brief: “DaFuq has been in touch, all resolved,” Gizmodo quoted him as saying to IGN. DaFuq!?Boom is the online name of Alexey Gerasimov, the creator of Skibidi Toilet. The statement confirms Newman considered the matter resolved after contact from Gerasimov; it does not describe a settlement, legal agreement, or other specific outcome. Gizmodo’s July 31, 2024 report
What the DMCA notice concerned
Newman discussed the notice publicly in July 2024 and said it had reached him earlier in the year. A screenshot he shared, as described in contemporaneous reporting, alleged unauthorized Skibidi Toilet games for Garry’s Mod and asserted that there was no licensed Steam, Valve, or Garry’s Mod content related to Skibidi Toilet. Those were claims in the notice screenshot, not findings established by a court. Gizmodo’s July 30, 2024 report
Gerasimov’s response—and what remains unknown
Gerasimov said he had never tried to harm Newman or Garry’s Mod. In Gizmodo’s account, he said: “I’m here to make it clear that I have NEVER tried to cause any harm to Garry and Garry’s Mod.”

The public reporting does not establish who sent the original DMCA notice, whether it was sent by Gerasimov, or what specific steps resolved the matter. Newman’s statement is evidence of his reported conclusion that the issue was resolved, not a disclosure of the underlying terms.
Don’t confuse this with later litigation
A separate dispute between Invisible Narratives and Next Level Apps Technology later produced court-filed preliminary restrictions in June 2025, followed by an Invisible Narratives statement announcing a settlement with Next Level in June 2026. Those events concern different parties and should not be treated as details or a continuation of Newman’s 2024 update.
