Nintendo’s UK and Canadian listings identify Gear.Club Unlimited 3 as a Switch 2 game and give its release date as February 19, 2026. The UK listing gives a 45.2 GB download size; that figure applies to that regional digital listing and may change. Choose Forza Horizon 5 if you play on Xbox, PC or PS5
Forza’s official pages identify FH5 support on Xbox, PC and PS5. The PS5 announcement also describes cross-play with Xbox and PC. Check the storefront for your system and the edition you intend to buy: platform support does not mean every edition or purchase option is identical. Read Forza’s PS5 announcement.
Check dates by platform for Gear.Club Unlimited 3
NACON’s US product page lists Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox and Steam-key choices, along with physical and digital formats, but its console date is displayed as “08/10,” which does not establish a clear date without a regional convention. The US PlayStation Store lists October 8, 2026 for the PS5 edition. Check the relevant regional store for current availability rather than applying the Switch 2 date to every platform.

NACON’s May 19, 2025 announcement projected a Q4 2025 release window; that was the original plan, not the current platform-specific listing. The announcement named Eden Games as developer, while the current US PlayStation Store listing credits Cyanide Studio for its PS5 listing. Those credits should be treated as listing-specific rather than collapsed into one unqualified developer claim. What kind of racing structure do you want?
Gear.Club Unlimited 3: a club story, tracks and highway events
Nintendo describes a story rooted in Japanese car culture, alongside races, time attacks and highway traffic races. The setting also includes France’s Mediterranean coast: Nintendo lists 50 tracks across France and Japan. NACON and Nintendo both list more than 40 cars. Those are publisher and platform-listed figures, not independent counts.

The available descriptions point to organized race events and progression rather than an open-world format. Although the original announcement used “open-road adventures,” the current product pages emphasize tracks, story and highway mode; they do not establish that the game is an open-world racer. Nintendo’s listing and NACON’s product page outline those features.
Forza Horizon 5: an open world with changing activities
FH5 is set in a varied open-world interpretation of Mexico. Forza highlights activities across that world, co-op and competitive modes, customization, and EventLab, where players can create events. Its official page cites hundreds of cars and more than 40 content updates. That breadth makes FH5 the better fit on paper for someone who wants to roam between activities and try community-made events, rather than focus on a club-story structure.

For FH5, Forza describes co-op and competitive activities and cross-play across Xbox, PC and PS5. EventLab adds player-created content. If playing together is the deciding factor, confirm that the desired activity supports your group’s platform combination and check the relevant account and online-service requirements in the platform store.
Does “Forza Horizon” mean FH5 or FH6?
The comparison above is specifically with Forza Horizon 5. The official franchise page also features Forza Horizon 6, describes it as set in Japan, lists over 550 cars and shows Xbox Series X|S and PC preorders. Its timing text says “coming May 19” without a year and says PS5 is coming in 2026, so that page alone does not establish a specific FH6 release date. Do not treat FH6’s car count or Japan setting as FH5 features. Check the official Forza Horizon franchise page for the current positioning and platform information.
