The reported total is 41 across six chapters: Hope and Ruin (13), Technical Difficulties (2), Tough as Nails (14), Signals (5), Paths Diverge (2), and Critical Failure (5). Pick up the train-stop COG Tags before the train leaves, and finish optional routes in Tough as Nails before advancing. Counts and locations below are reported by TechWiser and GamersBeacon; they are guide-sourced, not an official Xbox checklist.
Act 4 collectible totals by chapter
| Chapter | Reported collectibles | Route warning |
|---|---|---|
| Hope and Ruin | 13 | Follow the route through the chapter’s memorial, bridge, hotel, plaza, market, university, souvenir shop, and Opera House approach. |
| Technical Difficulties | 2 | Collect the tags at the train stop before the train departs. |
| Tough as Nails | 14 | Complete optional routes before leaving; two items are associated with optional content. |
| Signals | 5 | Search the gas station, bridge area, communications tower, and exit route. |
| Paths Diverge | 2 | One set of tags is near the start; the other is farther along toward the reactor. |
| Critical Failure | 5 | Check the final room and War Journal before triggering the boss encounter. |
| Total | 41 | Counts reported by the two guides linked above. |
Use the chapter count in the War Journal as a progress check before leaving an area. If a chapter is short, search its optional paths and check for a story transition that may have moved you forward. The two guides agree on chapter totals and the main missable warning, but some fine-grained landmarks differ; the route below sticks to landmarks both sources broadly support.
Chapter 1: Hope and Ruin — 13 collectibles
Work through the chapter’s route in order, checking each listed area before moving on. The guide reports place these items around the opening memorial, bridge, hotel reception, cathedral and truck route, plaza, market, university, souvenir shop, and the Opera House approach and balcony.
- COG Tags of Sergeant Major Hank Rustin
- Message from The Coalition
- COG Tags of Sergeant Betsy (also listed as Betsy Barnes)
- Regalia Hotel VIP Guest List
- DISPUTE Magazine
- Anniversary Card and Tickets to Khindago
- A Handwritten Letter, in Vasgari
- COG Tags of Specialist Harrison Alexieff
- Statuette of Roman Kalona
- COG Tags of Specialist Dale Maddoc
- Blood-Splattered Ulk Plushie (also written as Blood Splattered)
- Light Darker Opera Program
- COG Tags of Specialist Mei Aoi
The guides’ landmark descriptions vary in precision, so use the named locations as a sweep rather than assuming an item is on a specific piece of cover or shelf. Check the War Journal before leaving the chapter if its count is below 13.

Chapter 2: Technical Difficulties — 2 collectibles
Do not leave the train stop until you have searched it. The train resumes moving, making the tags the time-sensitive pickup in this chapter.
- COG Tags of Sergeant Aman Landry: Search the train stop before the train departs.
- Graffitied Poster: Go back along the tracks into the tunnel. One guide writes its name as “N0 80” with a zero; the other gives “No. 80.” “Graffitied Poster” avoids that spelling discrepancy.
Confirm the chapter count is 2 in the War Journal before the story carries you onward.
