Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

The Pokémon Company has confirmed the month, but its announcement does not specify October 7. Bulbapedia’s distribution listing reports that date in connection with HOME version 4.1.0.
How to get the Celebi gift
- Complete the Pokédex in FireRed or LeafGreen. The Pokémon Company describes the requirement as completing the game Pokédex. It says registrations from either game will be registered in Pokémon HOME once HOME connects.
- Link the game with Pokémon HOME when connectivity begins. The announced start is October 2026. The precise October 7 date is reported by Bulbapedia, not stated in the official announcement.
- Claim the gift in Pokémon HOME mobile. Celebi is delivered as a gift in the mobile version of HOME; it is not described as an in-game reward inside FireRed or LeafGreen.
The Pokémon Company’s August 13, 2026 announcement says players can receive Celebi “as a gift for completing the Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version Pokédex.”
Do you have to transfer Pokémon out of the games?
No. Pokédex registration and transferring a Pokémon are separate things. The official directions say registered Pokémon from either game will be registered in HOME when the connection is made; they do not require you to move the Pokémon themselves into HOME to satisfy the Pokédex condition. The announcement also suggests Pokémon HOME GTS trading as a way to fill Pokédex entries.
Be careful before transferring any Pokémon: a move from FireRed or LeafGreen into HOME is one-way, and Pokémon from other games cannot be moved into FireRed or LeafGreen. You can work toward the Pokédex reward without treating HOME as a round-trip storage box.

Is October 7 officially confirmed?
Not in the Pokémon Company announcement available for this news. It confirms an October 2026 start for FireRed and LeafGreen connectivity with Pokémon HOME and the associated Celebi gift. Bulbapedia’s distribution listing reports October 7 following HOME version 4.1.0. Until an official notice names the day, October 7 should be treated as a secondary-source date rather than an explicitly confirmed date from The Pokémon Company.
What to know about the Switch versions

Other HOME changes are separate from the reward
The planned HOME version 4.1.0 update also raises Premium Plan storage from 6,000 to 9,000 Pokémon without changing the Premium Plan price, according to The Pokémon Company’s 2026 notice. That storage increase is not listed as a Celebi requirement.
Pokémon Bank is separately scheduled to end service on February 25, 2027, at 7:00 p.m. PST. Pokémon Bank-to-HOME transfers will also end then; players who want to keep Pokémon in Bank are advised to move them before that deadline. This is not a condition of the FireRed and LeafGreen Celebi gift.
