Gears of War: E-Day has three core editions: Standard, Premium, and Premium Edition Upgrade. The Collector’s Edition is a separate physical bundle, not a fourth core edition. In the US listings checked on October 3, 2026, the three core choices were priced at $69.99, $99.99, and $30 respectively; qualifying preorders could also receive Exfil Dom and weapon cosmetics before the October 6 cutoff.
Which Gears of War: E-Day editions are available?
Xbox’s editions announcement names Standard, Premium, and Premium Edition Upgrade as the three core choices. It describes Collector’s Edition separately as a physical collector bundle. Listed prices below are US prices from Xbox in 2026, except the Collector’s Edition price, which is from the Xbox Game Studios Shop. Prices and stock can vary by region and change; check the buyer’s local store before paying.

What does Premium add?
Premium costs $30 more than the US Xbox Standard listing. Its early-access window began October 1, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. PT / 15:00 UTC, so that benefit is already underway as of October 3. The general release is October 6 at the same time; the remaining value of buying Premium now depends on whether its in-game content is worth the difference to you.
The five seasonal customization packs begin with Emergence. The official editions announcement says the Emergence pack includes character skins, poses, weapon skins, a banner, and an emblem. Premium also includes the Bravo Squad Signature Weapon Pack and 1,000 Iron.

What are the preorder bonuses, and when do they expire?
Qualifying preorders receive the Exfil Dom character skin and Exfil weapon skin set. The Dom skin is for Dominic Santiago in Horde Siege and Versus; the weapon set applies to eligible weapons in those modes. Xbox states the offer is for purchases made before October 6, 2026 at 7:59 a.m. PT, at participating retailers while supplies last. The offer is limited to one per person/account and may require a single-use code.

The preorder page also promoted early access to the Open Beta beginning August 6, 2026. That beta window has passed and is no longer a usable preorder benefit.
What is in the Collector’s Edition?
The Collector’s Edition combines the Premium digital upgrade with a substantial physical collection. Its listed items are:

Which platforms and access options should you compare?
Xbox lists Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and Steam as platforms. Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass include the game on its October 6, 2026 launch date. Xbox Play Anywhere applies to one Xbox/Microsoft Store purchase across Xbox Series X|S and PC; it does not mean a Steam purchase receives the same entitlement.
Rank #3
- Disc only. Original case and manual not included. Will come packaged in a generic case.
- This renewed game has been cleaned, tested, and shows minimal wear.
- Choose between physical and digital Standard based on whether you want a disc or a digital license.
- If you already own Standard, compare the $30 upgrade with buying Premium outright; check platform/storefront compatibility before checkout.
- For Premium, weigh the cosmetic and seasonal content against the fact that early access has already begun.
- For Collector’s Edition, check the exact Xbox disc or Steam code version, regional shipping, and live stock before ordering.
How to choose
Choose Standard if you only want the game
Standard is the straightforward option if the Premium cosmetics and seasonal packs do not matter to you. Its physical format is also the choice to consider if you want an Xbox disc rather than a digital entitlement.
Choose Premium if you want its in-game extras
Premium makes sense for buyers who value the included weapon pack, Iron, and seasonal customization packs. At the date of this guide, its early access has started, so do not treat the full early-access window as a future benefit.
Choose the upgrade if you already own Standard
The upgrade is specifically described for existing Standard owners. Verify the matching platform and storefront listing before purchase rather than assuming an upgrade bought in one ecosystem will apply to another.
