GeForce NOW Day Passes provide 24 consecutive hours of cloud gaming from checkout. NVIDIA currently labels the tiers Performance and Ultimate; older coverage and the March 2024 US launch announcement called the lower tier Priority. A pass is a one-time purchase, not a recurring subscription, and availability, eligibility and price depend on your region and account status.
What is a GeForce NOW Day Pass?
A Day Pass is temporary access to a paid GeForce NOW tier for 24 consecutive hours. The timer starts immediately when checkout is completed, rather than when you first launch a game. When the 24 hours end, an account without a recurring paid plan returns to the free tier.
The March 7, 2024 US launch announcement described Day Passes as access to “24 hours of GeForce RTX-powered cloud gaming.” NVIDIA’s current support terminology is different: the former Priority name is represented by Performance, while Ultimate remains the higher tier.
Who can buy each pass?
| Account status | Performance Day Pass | Ultimate Day Pass |
|---|---|---|
| Free member | Eligible | Eligible |
| Recurring Performance member | Not stated as eligible for another Performance pass; the current membership pauses during a pass | Eligible; the current Performance membership pauses during the pass |
| Founders member | Not stated as eligible for another Performance pass; the current membership pauses during a pass | Eligible; the current Founders membership pauses during the pass |
| Recurring Ultimate member | Not stated | Ineligible |
NVIDIA’s current FAQ says free members can purchase either tier, Performance members can purchase an Ultimate Day Pass, and recurring Ultimate members cannot purchase a Day Pass. Because eligibility rules can change by market or account, the options shown after signing in are the final check.

Performance versus Ultimate
| Question | Performance | Ultimate |
|---|---|---|
| Current name | Performance (historically called Priority) | Ultimate |
| Best fit | A single day when you want paid-tier access without committing to a recurring plan | A single day when you specifically need Ultimate-tier capability |
| Eligible buyers | Free members; other eligibility depends on the account and current offer | Free members and Performance members; recurring Ultimate members are ineligible |
| Price | Regional price displayed at checkout | Regional price displayed at checkout |
| Duration | 24 consecutive hours from checkout | 24 consecutive hours from checkout |
Do not treat the historical “Priority” label as a separate current product without checking the account page. NVIDIA’s current FAQ uses Performance and Ultimate, while the 2024 announcement used Priority and Ultimate.
When does the 24-hour period start?
- Sign in to the GeForce NOW account that will use the pass.
- Select the available Performance or Ultimate Day Pass.
- Review the local price and terms shown for your region.
- Complete checkout. The 24-hour period begins immediately at that point.
- Use the service until the pass expires. If there is no recurring membership, the account reverts to free access afterward.
Buying a pass in advance does not create a later start time under the current FAQ; checkout starts the clock.

Can the pass cost be applied to a membership?
NVIDIA says the value of a Day Pass can be applied toward a premium membership if you do so within 48 hours after the pass expires. Its premium-membership information describes the amount as applying to the first month. Check the conversion option and current account terms before purchasing, because the offer is subject to the terms displayed for your account and region.
How much does a Day Pass cost?
There is no single current worldwide price established by NVIDIA’s published terms. NVIDIA says Day Pass pricing and offerings vary by region, so use the amount shown at checkout in your local currency.

For historical context only, NVIDIA’s March 7, 2024 US launch announcement listed $3.99 for Priority and $7.99 for Ultimate. Those were launch prices in the United States and should not be used as current universal prices or as a guarantee of availability.
What do you need to use one?
You need a GeForce NOW account, a supported device and a reliable internet connection. NVIDIA recommends hardwired Ethernet or a 5 GHz wireless router for Ultimate streaming. A cable can therefore improve connection consistency, but it is an optional accessory—not a required purchase for a Day Pass.

Should you buy a Day Pass or a recurring membership?
Choose a Day Pass when
- You need paid-tier access for one concentrated 24-hour period.
- You are testing GeForce NOW before choosing a recurring plan.
- You want Ultimate temporarily but do not want an ongoing Ultimate subscription.
Choose a recurring plan when
- You expect to play regularly beyond one day.
- You do not want the timer to begin at checkout.
- Your account qualifies for a membership whose ongoing benefits better match your usage.
Before paying, compare the displayed one-day price with the current monthly offer and verify whether the 48-hour post-expiry upgrade credit appears in your account terms.
The Bottom Line
GeForce NOW Day Passes are 24-hour, region-priced purchases that start immediately at checkout. Free members can choose Performance or Ultimate, Performance members can step up to Ultimate, and recurring Ultimate members are excluded. “Priority” is the older name for the lower tier; check NVIDIA’s current Performance wording and your account’s checkout terms before buying.
