Four-piece Marechaussee Hunter is the most consistent artifact recommendation in the reviewed guides, while Tome of the Eternal Flow is the premium weapon pick. For a no-gacha catalyst, consider craftable Prototype Amber; Sacrificial Jade is a Battle Pass weapon, not a free craftable option. Your best goblet and team depend on stats, roster, energy needs, and the support buffs you can provide.
How Neuvillette’s build works
Neuvillette is a five-star Hydro Catalyst character from Fontaine. HoYoWiki’s character entry establishes his character identity and weapon class. His main damage comes from Charged Attack: Equitable Judgment, an HP-scaling Hydro beam. His Skill and Burst create Sourcewater Droplets; absorb them while charging to speed up the attack and heal him. In practice, use Skill or Burst to generate droplets, absorb them during the charge, and fire the beam.
Build choices should support that Charged Attack: increase HP and damage, balance CRIT stats, and generate enough Energy to use his Burst at a comfortable point in the rotation. Guide rankings are community recommendations, not official HoYoverse rankings, and his results vary with investment and encounter.
Best weapons for Neuvillette
| Weapon | Best fit | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Tome of the Eternal Flow | Premium option | The Version 7.1 guide from Genshin-Build.com, updated October 2, 2026, recommends it as its top weapon. That page reports 114% relative damage at R1 in its DPS-team comparison; this is the guide’s own comparison, not an official statistic or a universal damage guarantee. See the guide. |
| Sacrificial Jade | Battle Pass option | The same Version 7.1 guide lists R5 as its F2P choice. It requires access to the Battle Pass, so it is not a freely craftable weapon. |
| Prototype Amber | No-gacha, craftable route | Fan guides describe this craftable catalyst as providing HP, energy support, and party healing. It is a practical option if you want to avoid gacha and Battle Pass weapons, but source versions and ranking methods differ; it is not established as superior to every alternative in all builds. Genshin Builds and Genshin Wiki Team discuss this option. |
Choose based on what you can actually obtain and the team you plan to play. A premium ranking does not make a weapon a build requirement.
#1 Best Overall
Best artifacts and main stats
Artifact set
Four-piece Marechaussee Hunter is the strongest general recommendation among the reviewed guides. Its two-piece effect increases Charged Attack DMG by 15%. Its four-piece effect grants 12% CRIT Rate for five seconds whenever HP increases or decreases, stacking up to three times for a maximum 36% CRIT Rate, as described by HoyoBuild. Neuvillette’s HP changes during his attack loop make the set’s CRIT bonus a natural fit. HoyoBuild’s Version 7.1 guide details the set effect.
Main stats
- Sands: HP% is the common recommendation.
- Goblet: Hydro DMG and HP% can both work. Compare the actual pieces you own, including substats and the damage bonuses supplied by your team; do not assume one main stat always wins.
- Circlet: Choose CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG to balance the build’s actual CRIT stats. Marechaussee Hunter supplies substantial CRIT Rate while active, so account for its stacks rather than judging the Circlet in isolation.
Energy Recharge
Energy needs depend on weapon, teammates, rotation, and encounter. Mobalytics gives a 100–130% ER estimate and notes that Neuvillette may need some ER substats to restore his Burst reliably, particularly in Stygian Onslaught. HoyoBuild estimates around 120–130% ER with another Hydro character and about 160% when he is the only Hydro character. Treat these as guide estimates, not fixed thresholds. Mobalytics’ build guide and HoyoBuild provide their respective recommendations.
Talent priority and constellations
Talents
Prioritize Normal Attack: Equitable Judgment scales from that talent despite functioning as a charged attack. Level Skill and Burst afterward; guides differ on their relative order, so prioritize according to how much each contributes to your rotation.

Is C1 necessary?
No. C1 is not required for a functional Neuvillette build. Fan guides describe it as improving interruption resistance and team flexibility. At C0, a shielder is one option if interruptions are disrupting your beam; it is not a mandatory team slot. Genshin Wiki Team’s guide discusses the constellation and interruption comfort.
Team options
There is no single team that suits every account or encounter. Compare options by available characters, reaction focus, damage buffs and resistance reduction, healing or shielding, interruption comfort, and energy needs. The following are examples from current community guides, not a universal ranking.
Hydro-focused hypercarry
Neuvillette, Furina, Xilonen, and Ororon is one Version 7.1 example from Genshin-Build.com. The guide describes Furina as providing a damage bonus and Hydro resonance, Xilonen as supplying resistance reduction, and Ororon as Electro support. Genshin-Build.com’s Version 7.1 page gives its team rationale.

- Mediterranean Horror: Explore the forsaken capital of an awe-inspiring archipelago. Do not let yourself be fooled by the gentle sea breeze, the Mediterranean vistas or the comforting summer sun. Since the Devil's Fevers pandemic ravaged the city, it was abandoned, and now only horrific nightmares await there.
- Survive your Nemesis: Someone is relentlessly hunting you. Suffer and agonize while you try to run away from the encounters with this strange stalker obsessed with you.
- Intense Challenges: Solve environmental riddles, physics puzzles and other similar challenges in an interconnected vertical world. Even while being chased and hunted.
- Accessibility and Photomode: Tweak more than 20 Accessibility settings to create a tailored experience for you. Use the Photomode to make perfect shots and unlock many secrets using it.
Freeze
Current examples pair Neuvillette with Furina and a Cryo support such as Citlali or Escoffier, alongside Xilonen or another support. Pick among available characters and consider what buffs, defensive utility, and energy the full team supplies; the named lineup is an example rather than a mandatory composition. Genshin-Build.com lists Freeze variants.
Lunar-Charged
HoyoBuild’s current example uses Neuvillette, Columbina, Ineffa, and Sucrose, with Neuvillette serving as Hydro applier and on-field driver. See HoyoBuild’s team example.

Accessible alternate archetypes
Older fan guides also list taser and Hyperbloom teams. Treat these as alternative archetypes for rosters that support them, rather than assuming they are current best-in-slot teams. Genshin Builds’ Version 6.0 guide includes earlier team examples.
Quick Recap
Putting the build together
- Choose a weapon you can access: Tome of the Eternal Flow is the premium recommendation; Prototype Amber offers a craftable no-gacha route, while Sacrificial Jade requires the Battle Pass.
- Equip four-piece Marechaussee Hunter: prioritize HP% Sands, then compare your Hydro DMG and HP% Goblets and balance CRIT on the Circlet.
- Check Burst comfort in your team: use ER estimates as a starting point, then adjust for your weapon, teammates, and rotation.
- Level Normal Attack first: it governs Equitable Judgment. Add Skill and Burst levels after it.
- Select supports for the encounter: decide whether you need a reaction focus, buffs or resistance reduction, healing, shielding, or better interruption comfort.
