Who won Players’ Voice at The Game Awards 2025?
The Game Awards’ 2025 Players’ Voice page identifies Wuthering Waves, published by Kuro Games, as the winner. Genshin Impact, published by HoYoverse, was one of the five finalists, alongside Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Dispatch, and Hollow Knight: Silksong.
That means the claim that Genshin Impact won the category again in 2025 is incorrect. Reaching the final five is a notable result, but it is not the same as winning.
When did Genshin Impact win Players’ Voice?
The Game Awards’ official 2022 archive lists Genshin Impact as the Players’ Voice winner that year. The results make the distinction clear: Genshin Impact won in 2022 and was a finalist in 2025, while Wuthering Waves won in 2025.

How does Players’ Voice voting work?
The Game Awards describes Players’ Voice as a “100% fan voted award.” The 2025 page shows a three-round process:
- Round 1: Voters choose 10 games from 30 nominees.
- Round 2: Voters choose five games from the remaining 10.
- Round 3: Voters choose one game from the final five.
The page displayed the 2025 rounds opening on December 1, December 4, and December 8, respectively. Those dates apply to that awards cycle; the live category page may show different dates in another year.

What does The Game Awards’ 2025 vote figure mean?
In a December 18, 2025 release, The Game Awards reported more than 123 million authenticated viewer votes across the awards, including Players’ Voice. That is not a published vote count for Players’ Voice alone, or for Genshin Impact.
The same release reported an estimated 171 million global livestreams of the full December 11, 2025 show. The Game Awards says this total excludes associated clips and trailers and does not include Prime Video viewership. It also cited a peak of 4.4 million concurrent viewers across Twitch, YouTube, and other western platforms, attributing that figure to StreamCharts. These are measures of event reach, not category-specific vote totals.
