Genshin Impact Version 4.8, “Summertide Scales and Tales,” launched on July 17, 2024. Its headline feature was Simulanka, a summer map available only for a limited time during that version. The update also added seasonal activities, scheduled Event Wishes, a Nilou outfit, and game-system adjustments. This is a historical guide: Simulanka and the 4.8 banners are not current content.
What was added in Genshin Impact 4.8?
HoYoverse presented Version 4.8 as a summer update centered on exploring Simulanka and taking part in its activities. The announcement highlighted three activities:
- Boreal Flurry: an aerial balloon-shooting activity.
- Flying Hatter’s Trick: a claw-machine-like activity involving moving toy figures.
- Metropole Trials: a combat challenge that required two teams.
The official update details also included additions and adjustments across game systems. The available official overview supports that broad description, not a complete item-by-item account of every adjustment. Was Simulanka permanent?
No. HoYoverse explicitly designated Simulanka a limited-time area, available only during Version 4.8. It is not an area players can access as current permanent content. The update details also described a Teleport Waypoint in the Forest of Blessings that would unlock automatically after the specified quest and prerequisite; consult the official update details for the exact conditions.

What were the Version 4.8 Event Wishes?
The wishes were scheduled across two halves of the version. HoYoverse’s July 15, 2024 Phase I preview covered the opening half. For the latter half, the company announced Emilie’s debut and Yelan’s rerun; its Phase II notice was posted on August 1, 2024. These are historical banner details, not a statement that either character is currently available on those banners.

What happened to the Nilou outfit after the event?
The Version 4.8 update details said the Nilou outfit would be available for purchase in the Character Outfit Shop after Version 4.8 ended. That is the update’s historical availability note; it does not establish whether the outfit is in the shop now. Check the in-game Character Outfit Shop for present-day availability.
