HoYoverse’s Version 5.0 benefits overview, published August 16, 2024, is the official source for the free Natlan character offer. The available notice text does not establish the character’s exact unlock steps, eligibility requirements, or deadline, so those details should not be guessed. This character offer is separate from the version’s Primogem mail reward and a temporary Mualani web event.
What is confirmed about the free Natlan character?
HoYoverse published a Version 5.0 benefits overview on August 16, 2024. It is the primary source to consult for the free-character benefit. However, the accessible notice text does not confirm which character is offered or how players unlock it. The exact steps, account eligibility, and deadline are therefore not established here.
Use the complete official notice for the character instructions rather than treating a separate Version 5.0 reward as the unlock method. In particular, the Anniversary Primogem mail and Mualani web event described below were distinct offers.
How the other Version 5.0 rewards differed
| Offer | Eligibility and delivery | Timing and deadline |
|---|---|---|
| Free Natlan character benefit | Exact character, eligibility, and unlock method are not established in the accessible Version 5.0 benefits notice text. | Deadline not established in the accessible notice text. |
| “A Letter of Thanks” Primogem mail | Adventure Rank 7 or above; five daily in-game mails, each containing 200 Primogems. | Delivered August 26–30, 2024. Each mail expired after 30 days, and the notice required claiming rewards before Version 5.0 ended. |
| Mualani web event | Adventure Rank 10 or above; visit four Natlan scenic spots for in-game item rewards. Wallpapers were also available to claim during the event. | August 23–30, 2024 (UTC+8); wallpapers had to be claimed before the event ended. |
Anniversary Primogem mail
HoYoverse’s “A Letter of Thanks” notice, published August 25, 2024, specified 1,000 Primogems in total: 200 per day by in-game mail from August 26 through August 30. It was a Primogem giveaway, not a character unlock.

Mualani sightseeing event
The separate Mualani web event ran August 23–30, 2024 (UTC+8). Eligible players visited four Natlan scenic spots for in-game item rewards. Its limited-time wallpapers were claimable only before the event ended; the event did not constitute the free-character offer.

What players should check
- For the free character, consult HoYoverse’s complete Version 5.0 benefits overview for the definitive character name and claim instructions.
- Do not infer the character’s quest, Adventure Rank requirement, or claim deadline from the separate mail and web-event notices; those sources describe different rewards.
- The dated Primogem and Mualani offers above are historical Version 5.0 events, not currently claimable rewards.
