Varesa and Iansan
Version 5.5 added two Electro characters. HoYoverse describes Varesa as a five-star Catalyst DPS focused on Plunging Attacks and high-speed movement. Iansan is a four-star Polearm support whose official description emphasizes buffs for the active character. These are the developer’s role descriptions, not an independent comparison of their performance; the update notice does not establish that one is objectively stronger.
Weapon, artifacts and domain
The new five-star Catalyst was Vivid Notions. The update also introduced the Long Night’s Oath and Finale of the Deep Galleries artifact sets, obtainable from the Derelict Masonry Dock domain. Long Night’s Oath focuses on Plunging Attack damage; Finale of the Deep Galleries supports Cryo damage and characters with no Elemental Energy.
