Version 6.3, officially called Version Luna IV: “A Traveler on a Winter’s Night,” launched on January 14, 2026. It introduced Columbina, Zibai, and the Lunar-Crystallize reaction, advanced the Nod-Krai story, and brought back Lantern Rite. This is a recap, not a preview: HoYoverse’s Version 7.1 had launched by October 8, 2026, so the 6.3 banners, event offers, and reward claims described below are historical.
What was new in Version 6.3?
HoYoverse presented Luna IV as Genshin Impact’s first update of 2026. Its main additions were three characters, a new reaction linked to Geo and Hydro, further Nod-Krai story and exploration, and the return of Lantern Rite. The App Store version history identifies Luna IV as Version 6.3 and lists it as available. HoYoverse’s Luna IV announcement and the App Store version history provide the release details.
Which characters were announced?
Columbina
Columbina was introduced as a new 5-star Hydro Catalyst character designed to support Lunar Reactions. HoYoverse described her as dealing coordinated Lunar Reaction damage while off field and creating a Lunar Domain that enhances those reactions. The announcement says the domain can add thundercloud strikes to Lunar-Charged, provide resources for Lunar-Bloom, and enable Moondrift attacks for Lunar-Crystallize. It also says she can convert certain existing reactions into Lunar Reactions. These are the developer’s announced mechanics, not an independent assessment of her performance.
Zibai
Zibai was announced as a new 5-star Geo Sword character tied to Lunar-Crystallize. According to HoYoverse, she enters a special state and builds unique energy to unleash an Elemental Skill that deals Lunar-Crystallize damage; triggering the reaction more often increases the skill’s frequency and damage.

How did Lunar-Crystallize work?
HoYoverse described Lunar-Crystallize as a reaction triggered when Geo meets Hydro under specific conditions. It summons three Moondrifts near enemies. After the reaction has been triggered three times, Moondrift Harmony activates, dealing Geo damage with a chance to critically hit.
The announcement gives a high-level description rather than a complete reaction guide: it does not establish a full formula, team ranking, or damage comparison. The reliable takeaway is that Lunar-Crystallize added a new Geo-and-Hydro interaction built around Moondrifts and their follow-up Harmony effect.

What happened in Nod-Krai?
The Nod-Krai storyline moved toward a confrontation with Il Dottore, who had seized the power of the Moon Marrows. HoYoverse described the update’s Archon Quest as a climax in that storyline. Completing the quest unlocked a Traveler outfit.

New northern area and World Quest
The region expanded north to Piramida, the Lightkeepers’ headquarters. HoYoverse placed it overlooking the western Pillar of Embla and Kipumaki Cliff. A new World Quest sent players to work with the Lightkeepers and Illuga against the Wild Hunt.

- The ad-free feature is especially beneficial for a seamless gaming experience. Ads can often be disruptive and distracting, so having the option to play without them significantly improves overall enjoyment. With no interruptions, players can focus solely on strategy and gameplay, creating a smoother and more immersive experience.
What rewards were announced?
HoYoverse announced these Version 6.3 rewards:
- 1,600 Primogems delivered through in-game mail.
- 10 Intertwined Fates through a login event.
- A new Yaoyao outfit through Lantern Rite.
- A chance to invite one 4-star Liyue character.
These are the reward quantities and items announced for Luna IV by HoYoverse in 2026. The announcement does not establish that any claim window remains open.
How should Columbina and Zibai be distinguished?
Based on the announced mechanics, Columbina was the broader Lunar Reaction support, with off-field damage and a domain affecting multiple Lunar Reactions. Zibai was specifically built around Geo and Lunar-Crystallize. That describes their announced roles only; it is not a strength comparison or a pull recommendation.
