Genshin Impact Version 6.4, also called Luna V, brought Varka’s long-awaited playable debut. HoYoverse announced that the five-star Anemo character’s Character Event Wish would begin on February 25, 2026, after the update. The version also included his story quest, a new boss, four events, and other additions, according to GameWith’s recap. Version 6.4 is a past update, not an upcoming release.
When did Varka release in Genshin Impact?
HoYoverse’s February 16, 2026 Varka skill showcase identified him as an Anemo character and said his Character Event Wish would be available February 25 after the Version Luna V update. GameWith’s version summary describes Varka as a five-star claymore user and Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius.
His official character promotion led into the wish launch:
- February 16, 2026: HoYoverse published the skill showcase.
- February 19, 2026: The character teaser, “Where the Knight’s Heart Leads,” followed.
- February 24, 2026: HoYoverse posted the character trailer, “The Code of Chivalry.”
- February 25, 2026: Varka’s Character Event Wish began after the update, according to the skill showcase.

Varka’s story quest and a new boss
The update added “Lupus Majoris Chapter: Act I,” Varka’s story quest, and the Radiant Moongecko boss. GameWith describes the boss as a source of Varka’s ascension material.
