Where to farm Obsidian Codex
The repeatable resin-based source is Domain of Blessing: Sanctum of Rainbow Spirits, located in Toyac Springs, Natlan, north of the People of the Springs area. The domain also drops Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City, so every run can produce either set.
How to unlock Sanctum of Rainbow Spirits
Reach the domain and interact with its entrance. No puzzle or separate unlocking quest is required. The listed progression requirements are Adventure Rank 22 and completion of the Prologue: Act III Archon Quest, “Song of the Dragon and Freedom.”
- Open the in-game map.
- Select Natlan and travel to Toyac Springs.
- Teleport to a nearby unlocked Waypoint, or travel from the Statue of the Seven near Teticpac Peak.
- Go to Sanctum of Rainbow Spirits and interact with the entrance.
- Choose the highest artifact-domain challenge level available to you.
A normal completion costs 20 Original Resin. You can use 1 Condensed Resin instead to receive the corresponding doubled reward quantity.

Which domain level should you choose?
Use the highest available difficulty. The Level IV artifact-domain stage becomes available at Adventure Rank 45 and guarantees at least one 5-star artifact when you claim its rewards. Reaching AR45 alone is not the guarantee—you must complete the appropriate highest-level domain stage.
Even at the best difficulty, the domain does not guarantee an Obsidian Codex piece. It also does not guarantee a particular slot, main stat, substat combination, or usable four-piece set. Because the domain has a two-set reward pool, farming Codex also produces Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City artifacts.
Use Mystic Offering to exchange unwanted 5-star artifacts
Obsidian Codex is available through the Artifact Strongbox: Obsidian Codex. This option was added in Version Luna I, also known as Version 6.0, on September 10, 2025—not when the set originally launched in Version 5.0. Older guides saying that Codex is unavailable in the Strongbox are outdated.
Exact Strongbox route
- Go to any Crafting Bench.
- Select Mystic Offering.
- Choose Artifact Strongbox: Obsidian Codex.
- Select three eligible 5-star artifacts.
- Confirm the exchange.
Three 5-star artifacts produce one random 5-star Obsidian Codex artifact. The result’s slot, main stat, substats, and enhancement rolls are random. The Strongbox does not let you choose a Flower, Plume, Sands, Goblet, or Circlet, nor does it let you select its stats.

Use the Artifact Transmuter for a targeted piece
The Artifact Transmuter is the best option when you need a specific Obsidian Codex slot and main-stat combination, particularly an expensive-to-farm Goblet or Circlet. It can create a Codex piece even if you have not unlocked the set’s domain.
How to unlock the Artifact Transmuter
Open the Adventurer Handbook and complete the Embattle: Chapter IV objective requiring a total of 25 5-star artifacts. Claiming the objective gives you the gadget, which is permanently available in the Inventory’s Gadgets category.
Artifact Definition route
- Open your Inventory.
- Open the Gadgets category.
- Select Artifact Transmuter.
- Choose Artifact Definition.
- Select Obsidian Codex.
- Choose the artifact slot, available main affix, and up to two minor affixes.
- Confirm creation.
The interface may call main stats Main Affixes and substats Minor Affixes.

You can choose the set, slot, and—where the slot allows it—the main affix. You can also select up to two minor affixes, which are guaranteed to appear. However, the remaining starting substats and every future enhancement roll remain random. Artifact Definition cannot produce a guaranteed perfect artifact.
Artifact Definition is also limited by cycle, so the Transmuter cannot produce unlimited Obsidian Codex pieces.
How to get Sanctifying Elixir
The Artifact Transmuter’s Artifact Extraction feature converts eligible leveled artifacts and enhancement materials into progress toward Sanctifying Elixir. One Elixir requires 100 extraction progress, and the amount you can extract is limited each cycle.

Only eligible 5-star artifacts at Level 4 or higher can be used. A Level 0 5-star artifact must first be raised to Level 4. Four-star and lower-rarity artifacts are not accepted, and the gadget’s current cycle limit can also prevent extraction.

Do not confuse Artifact Extraction with Artifact Salvage. Extraction builds progress toward Sanctifying Elixir; Salvage converts artifacts into ordinary artifact enhancement materials.

For sustained farming, use Sanctum of Rainbow Spirits. Mystic Offering is useful when your inventory contains genuinely unwanted 5-star artifacts, but its three-to-one exchange still leaves the result random. Artifact Definition is the most precise option, but its Elixir costs and cycle restriction make it a targeted supplement rather than a replacement for domain farming.
