The $3.3 million figure in GamesBeat’s headline conflicts with the $3.2 million stated in both the article body and GFAL’s announcement.
How much did GFAL raise?
GFAL, short for Games for a Living, said it closed a $3.2 million seed funding round. The amount appears in the company’s April 29, 2024 announcement carried by GlobeNewswire. GamesBeat’s headline used $3.3 million, but its article body also reports $3.2 million.
Who participated in the round?
GFAL named Supercell Ltd and investor Mitch Lasky among the participants. Its announcement also lists Heinrich Zetlmayer, Bonduc Bioscience SL, BCNBCNLVC, and David Fernandez, CEO of Sandsoft. GFAL said the new investors joined existing backers Bonsai Partners, Nekko Consulting, and Inveready.
What did GFAL say the funding would support?
The company said it planned to use the financing to expand its core team and accelerate production. It connected those plans to building on the mobile soft launch of Elemental Raiders, which it said had taken place in March 2023. Those are GFAL’s stated intentions at the time of the announcement, not evidence of how the money was later spent.

How is the seed round different from GFAL’s token presales?
GFAL’s announcement separately said the company had raised $4.4 million in token presales during 2023. That amount refers to token-sale proceeds as described by GFAL; it is not part of the $3.2 million seed-round figure.
What does GFAL make?
GFAL describes itself as a Barcelona-based game development and publishing startup founded in 2021. Its games page lists Elemental Raiders and Diamond Dreams as first-party games, and Jump Pump as a third-party publishing venture. The company describes Elemental Raiders as a strategy RPG in soft launch across Steam, Samsung Galaxy Store, Google Play, iOS, Elixir, and GFAL Launcher. That is GFAL’s own description; the page does not establish current availability on each platform.

What does GFAL say about its token-linked marketplace?
GFAL’s FAQ describes a marketplace where players can buy and sell in-game items using $GFAL. The company says gameplay itself does not provide financial rewards, that it does not develop play-to-earn games, and that its platform does not directly convert tokens into fiat currency. These are GFAL’s descriptions of its products and platform, not an investment case for owning a token.
