Windows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallCrashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minutegfsdk_txaa.win64.dll is a 64-bit, game-local NVIDIA TXAA rendering library. If Windows says it is missing or cannot load it, repair the game that requested it rather than downloading a replacement DLL.
The file is not a normal Windows component, DirectX file, Visual C++ runtime, or graphics-driver file. It normally belongs beside a game executable or inside that game’s folder, sometimes in a directory such as bin. Known installations include Grand Theft Auto V Legacy, Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs, and at least an older Rainbow Six Siege build. Different games can contain different copies, so a DLL from another title is not a safe substitute.

- Close the error message.
- Open Task Manager with Ctrl+Shift+Esc.
- Select Details.
- Look for a recently launched game executable, such as a game
.exe, launcher helper, or anti-cheat process. - Right-click a likely process and select Open file location.
- Check whether the folder contains the game’s main executable and related files.
You can also search installed game folders:
- Open File Explorer.
- Select This PC.
- Search for
gfsdk_txaa.win64.dll. - Note every result and the folder containing it.
- Do not copy a result from one game into another.
If the file is present but the error still appears, the message may be caused by a dependent DLL. “The specified module could not be found” can mean that the named file is present but something it requires is absent.
Fix 1: Verify the game files
This is the safest and most likely solution. Verification compares the installed game with the launcher’s expected files and can restore a deleted, damaged, or incomplete copy.
Steam
- Open Steam.
- Select Library.
- Right-click the affected game and choose Properties.
- Select Installed Files.
- Choose Verify integrity of game files.
- Wait for the process to finish.
- Start the game again from Steam.
A successful verification normally reports that the files were validated or that missing files were reacquired. If the error remains, restart Windows and test once more. If verification repeatedly finds the same file, continue to the antivirus and storage checks below.
Rockstar Games Launcher
- Open Rockstar Games Launcher.
- Select Settings.
- Under My installed games, select the affected game.
- Choose Verify Integrity.
- Wait until the check completes.
- Launch the game again.
If verification cannot complete or continually reports corruption, remove incompatible modifications and perform a clean reinstall from the official launcher.
Ubisoft Connect, Epic Games Store, and other launchers
Use the installed game’s own repair command rather than a downloaded DLL.
- In Ubisoft Connect, open the game’s page, open its properties or management menu, and select the option named Verify files, Verify, or Repair.
- In Epic Games Launcher, open Library, select the three-dot menu beside the game, choose Manage, and select Verify.
- In another launcher, open the installed game’s settings or management menu and look for Verify, Repair, or Scan and repair.
The wording can differ between launcher versions. If no repair option exists, uninstall and reinstall the game using the same official launcher or store.
Fix 2: Check antivirus quarantine
Security software may remove or quarantine a game file after an update or during a scan.

Windows Security
- Open Start and search for Windows Security.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Choose Protection history.
- Review recent actions involving the game folder or
gfsdk_txaa.win64.dll. - If the game came from a legitimate official source, inspect the detection details carefully.
- Restore the file only if you are confident it is a false positive.
- Run the game’s launcher verification again.
Do not restore a file from an unofficial game copy, and do not permanently disable antivirus protection just to make the game start. If the file disappears again after verification, investigate ransomware protection, other security software, permissions, and disk health before adding an exclusion.
Fix 3: Remove mods and mixed game files
Mods, unofficial patches, and files copied from another game build can cause version mismatches. A file from Watch Dogs, Grand Theft Auto V, or another title may have the same name but not be compatible with the failing executable.
- Close the game and launcher.
- Move third-party mod files out of the game folder, keeping a backup outside that folder.
- Remove unofficial patches or replacement DLLs.
- Run the launcher’s verification process again.
- Test the unmodified game before reinstalling mods.
If the error changes to “entry point not found,” the DLL may be the wrong version or the installation may contain mixed builds. Restore the original files through verification or reinstall the game.

Fix 4: Reinstall the affected game
Use this when verification cannot restore the file, the installation is severely damaged, or the file vanishes repeatedly.
- Back up saves if the game stores them locally.
- Remove mods and custom files.
- Uninstall the game from its launcher or from Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Restart Windows.
- Reinstall the game from its official launcher or store.
- Run it once before adding mods or overlays.
A clean installation should restore the library to the game’s own directory. It should not require placing the file in System32 or SysWOW64.
Fix 5: Install only a runtime the error actually names
Legacy games can need additional components even when the immediate message mentions gfsdk_txaa.win64.dll. Install the game’s bundled prerequisites first. If the accompanying error specifically names a legacy DirectX component such as D3DX9, D3DX10, D3DX11, XAudio2.7, XInput 1.3, or XACT, use Microsoft’s DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer.
This package does not contain gfsdk_txaa.win64.dll.
If the message names an MSVC runtime, use Microsoft’s supported Visual C++ Redistributable downloads. Match the runtime to the failing executable. A 64-bit game commonly needs x64 components, while a 32-bit launcher or helper may also need x86 components. The win64 part of this filename does not prove that every launcher process is 64-bit.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsWindows Features
Do not enable random Windows features as a DLL repair. If the game’s official installer specifically requests an optional Windows component:
- Press Win+R.
- Type
optionalfeatures. - Press Enter.
- Select the requested feature.
- Choose OK and restart if Windows asks.
Enabling a feature will not recreate this game-local TXAA library.
Fix 6: Repair Windows components
SFC and DISM repair protected Windows components. They generally cannot recreate a private DLL installed by a game, but they are reasonable secondary checks if other applications also report damaged Windows files.
- Open Start.
- Search for Command Prompt.
- Right-click it and select Run as administrator.
- Run:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Wait for it to complete.
- Then run:
sfc /scannow
- Restart Windows.
- Test the game again.
Success means DISM or SFC reports that the operation completed, repaired corruption, or found no integrity violations. If the game still reports the same missing file, return to game verification or reinstall the game. Do not repeatedly run these commands expecting them to download a game library.

If manually hunting through Windows repair steps is taking longer than the game repair itself, Outbyte PC Repair can scan for reported system issues and show what needs attention; its repair actions are handled by the full version, and reinstalling the affected game remains the definitive fix for this file.
Fix 7: Update Windows and check graphics drivers
A driver update will not normally restore gfsdk_txaa.win64.dll. It can help when the file is present but the game crashes during rendering.

Windows Update
- Open Settings.
- Select Windows Update.
- Choose Check for updates.
- Install available updates.
- Restart the computer.
- Test the game.
Use Microsoft’s Windows Update guidance if updates fail.
Device Manager
- Right-click Start.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters.
- Right-click the graphics adapter.
- Select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for drivers.
- Restart if prompted.
For a rendering crash, you can also uninstall the display device from Device Manager and install the correct driver from the graphics hardware manufacturer’s official support channel. Do not expect this to repair a missing game file.
If checking every device manually and guessing which driver is stale is slowing down diagnosis, Outbyte Driver Updater can scan and identify driver issues; the scan shows what is wrong, while driver installation is handled by the full version. The game’s own verification or reinstallation remains the correct repair for gfsdk_txaa.win64.dll.
Fix 8: Check storage, permissions, and repeated deletion
If the file returns after verification but disappears after every launch, the issue is probably not the DLL itself.
Check these areas:
- Review antivirus and ransomware-protection history.
- Confirm the game folder is writable by your account.
- Check the drive for errors and ensure it is not nearly full.
- Temporarily remove overlays and third-party injectors.
- Test the clean game without mods.
- Look for disk errors in Windows logs if other files are also becoming corrupted.
If the game works from a new Windows user profile, investigate profile permissions or corruption before reinstalling Windows.
Fix 9: Use System Restore only after a recent system change
System Restore is appropriate when the problem began immediately after a driver, application, or system change and a suitable restore point exists.
- Press Win+R.
- Type
rstrui.exe. - Press Enter.
- Select a restore point from before the problem began.
- Choose Scan for affected programs.
- Review the changes.
- Continue only if the restore point is suitable.
System Restore rolls back system files, settings, drivers, and installed programs but does not normally remove personal files. It is not a substitute for reinstalling the affected game.

Do not download the DLL from a random website
There is no verified official standalone Microsoft or NVIDIA download for this individual game library. Random DLL downloads can contain malware, belong to a different game build, use the wrong architecture, or leave the real installation problem unresolved.
Use the game’s official launcher, its bundled prerequisites, or a trusted backup from the same game installation and build.
Do not copy it to System32 or SysWOW64
The game normally expects its private copy beside its executable or in its own folder. System-wide copying can create version conflicts and does not repair the game’s installation.

For a genuine COM registration problem, an administrator could run:
regsvr32 "C:pathtocomponent.dll"
That command does not restore a missing game file and is not an appropriate command for gfsdk_txaa.win64.dll. Microsoft’s regsvr32 documentation explains its registration purpose.
If the file exists but the game still fails
Record the complete error message, the executable named in it, the game version, installation path, launcher, antivirus action, and any crash log. Then verify the installation again.
A present DLL can still fail because a dependency is missing or because the file belongs to another build. Repair the complete game installation rather than replacing individual files.
FAQ
Is gfsdk_txaa.win64.dll a Windows DLL?
No. It is a game-local 64-bit rendering library associated with NVIDIA TXAA.
Which game uses it?
Known installations include Grand Theft Auto V Legacy, Watch Dogs, and an older Rainbow Six Siege build. The error itself should be used to identify the requesting game because the filename is not exclusive to one title.
Should I install DirectX?
Only if the error also names a missing legacy DirectX component. DirectX installation will not recreate this file.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Should I install Visual C++?
Only when the game or installer reports an MSVC runtime problem. Visual C++ Redistributables do not replace this game-specific library.
Is the application 64-bit?
The win64 suffix and known game manifests indicate a 64-bit game library. The launcher or helper process may still be 32-bit and may need separate x86 prerequisites.
What if verification reports no problem?
Check antivirus quarantine, remove mods, and consider a dependency failure. If the file is present, the named DLL may only be the first loader failure.
When should I contact game support?
Contact the game’s publisher or launcher support after a clean official reinstall still fails. Include the executable name, full error text, installation path, launcher, protection-history result, and crash log.
