| Main story and map activities | Finish Atsu’s campaign and clear the activities and collectibles you want before restarting. | Unlocks New Game Plus and establishes your carry-over inventory. |
| Echoes of Sekigahara | Follow a story that moves between present-day Ezo and flashbacks to Atsu’s mainland past. | New area, story scenes, enemies, a weapon type, heavy weapons, armor sets and dyes. |
| Most Wanted | Accept bounties and survive escalating combat runs as a solo player. | Perks, additional playable characters, weapons, cosmetics, enemy waves and bosses. |
| Legends | Play two-player Story, four-player Survival and Incursion/raid activities online. | Co-op completion; PlayStation Plus is required for online multiplayer. |
| New Game Plus | Replay from the title screen with your established progression. | Gear, upgrades, cosmetics, resources and collectibles carry over; the 2026 additions also bring New Game Plus cosmetics and trophies tied to the two new modes. |
The most efficient sequence is to complete the campaign and major map work first, play Echoes for its story and equipment, use Most Wanted for repeatable runs and unlocks, then tackle Legends and clean up in New Game Plus. This is a practical ordering based on how the modes are structured, not a developer-mandated order.

Update the game before looking for new activities
Install the version 2.0 update and launch the game once after installation. The October 2026 patch is the delivery point for Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted. If either activity is absent, confirm that the update completed, restart the game and check that you are using the same PlayStation account that owns the relevant content.

- Stunning graphics and gameplay, explore the wild and striking lands around Mount Yotei on foot or horseback. Travel picturesque parts of northern Japan through grasslands, snowy ridges, fields of wildflowers, and more.
- Discover renegade combat, engage in lawless katana combat and battles with adversaires. Train with various sensei as you find and learn to use each new weapon.
- An unconventional story and journey, take in the cultural beauty of Japan, bathe in an onsen, visit shrines to pray, try Sumi-e painting, and so much more.
- Choose your weapon, battle Atsu's opponents as you see fit, with levelled-up dual katanas, odachi, kusarigama and other new weapons.
What the Complete Edition contains
The official PlayStation Store listing for the Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition PS5 identifies a bundle containing the base game, Echoes of Sekigahara, Most Wanted, Legends and Digital Deluxe content. The listing is the authoritative description of that edition’s contents. Territory, format, seller, stock and price for any physical listing can change, so verify those details at the time of purchase.
If you already own the base game
The first-party information used for this guide does not publish a universal upgrade price or a single upgrade path for every territory. Open the PlayStation Store from the account that owns the base game and check the edition or add-on options shown for your region. Do not assume that a physical copy, a digital copy and a Complete Edition entitlement convert in the same way.
Recommended completion order
- Finish the main story. This is the requirement that makes New Game Plus appear on the title screen.
- Clear the map work you want to preserve. Complete available activities and collect resources before beginning a replay. This avoids having to re-establish your preferred equipment and stock later.
- Start Echoes of Sekigahara. Treat it as the story-focused part of the post-game route, following its new Ezo location and the Sekigahara flashbacks.
- Run Most Wanted bounties. Use repeated runs to build perks and unlock characters, weapons and cosmetics.
- Play Legends. Arrange a partner for Story, a four-player group for Survival and the required party for Incursion activities. Online play requires PlayStation Plus.
- Begin New Game Plus for cleanup. Revisit remaining collectibles and trophy requirements with your carried-over progression, including the additional New Game Plus rewards associated with the 2026 content.
You can enter the two new modes earlier if they are available on your save. The order above simply prevents a restart from interrupting unfinished base-game exploration and puts the narrative expansion before the mode built around repeatable combat.

- Discover a bold, new story of a warrior in Japan who is on her own mission of vengeance.
- Set 300 years after the critically acclaimed Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Yōtei is a standalone experience set in 1600s rural Japan. The story follows a haunted, lone mercenary named Atsu. Thirsty for revenge, she travels through the beautiful, rugged landscapes of northern Japan, hunting those who killed her family many years earlier.
- Sixteen years after her family’s death, Atsu’s quest across Ezo brings her to unexplored lands in search of a gang of six outlaws, but she finds much more than vengeance. Throughout her journey, Atsu will discover unlikely allies, and greater bonds than she could have imagined.
Echoes of Sekigahara walkthrough and rewards
How the expansion is structured
Echoes of Sekigahara is the narrative expansion. Its story alternates between two time periods:
- Present-day Ezo: Atsu investigates a previously unseen valley once inhabited by The Snake and the Vipers.
- Mainland flashbacks: Atsu experiences the Battle of Sekigahara and a pivotal moment before returning home.
The official descriptions do not publish a numbered mission list or fixed objective names. That means a reliable walkthrough should follow the prompts and map markers presented in your own save rather than use an invented sequence of mission titles.
A practical route through the story
- Enter the expansion from a completed or late-game save. Keep your best available equipment equipped; the expansion adds new enemy types and a new weapon category, so a familiar loadout gives you a dependable starting point.
- Explore the new Ezo valley before rushing between objectives. The valley is the expansion’s new present-day region. Search side paths and combat spaces as they open, but do not treat an unlisted object as a confirmed collectible: no official count or location checklist has been published.
- Prepare for the flashback transitions. The mainland sections are story chapters set around Sekigahara. Follow the objective markers and dialogue in order, since the flashbacks explain the historical context and the personal event that precedes Atsu’s return home.
- Test the new weapon type as soon as it becomes available. The Store description specifically identifies mastering a new weapon type as part of the expansion. Use early encounters to learn its timing before relying on it in later fights.
- Revisit the valley after the story opens additional equipment. New enemies, heavy weapons, armor sets and dyes are among the documented additions. A second pass after the narrative unlocks is the safest way to make sure you have checked every newly accessible combat or reward space.
What you earn
| Reward or addition | What is established |
|---|---|
| Story content | Lessons about the Battle of Sekigahara, Atsu’s mainland flashbacks and a key event before she returns home. |
| Location | A previously unseen Ezo valley associated with The Snake and the Vipers. |
| Combat | New enemies and a new weapon type. |
| Equipment | Heavy weapons, armor sets and dyes. |
| Completion rewards | The 2026 Complete Edition announcement identifies trophies for Echoes of Sekigahara and additional New Game Plus cosmetics. |
The official pages do not state how many Echoes collectibles exist or provide a location-by-location checklist. Any guide claiming an exact number should identify a separately verified in-game list; do not infer a count from the base game’s collectible total.

Most Wanted mode: runs, rewards and completion
How a run works
Most Wanted is a single-player combat-survival mode that Sucker Punch describes as its own spin on a roguelike. You accept a bounty to begin a run, defeat enemy groups, earn perks and use the resulting progression to unlock more playable characters. The Store listing also documents new enemy waves, boss encounters, weapons and cosmetics.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →- Choose a bounty. A bounty is the entry point for a run. Select one that matches the character and equipment you currently have available rather than treating every attempt as a final clear.
- Stabilize your opening fights. Surviving the first waves matters more than chasing optional speed. Learn the encounter pattern and preserve resources for the boss stages.
- Select perks for the next encounters. Perks are the run-to-run power choices documented by the mode. Favor a coherent build—one that improves the weapon or defensive approach you are actually using—over unrelated bonuses.
- Adapt when the mode introduces new enemies. Enemy waves and bosses are part of the documented progression. Change your approach when an encounter punishes a tactic that worked in the previous wave.
- Bank unlock progress by completing runs when possible. The mode’s long-term rewards include characters, weapons and cosmetics. A failed attempt can still teach you which perks and matchups to prioritize on the next bounty, but the official descriptions do not specify a separate reward amount for a failed run.
What counts as completion?
There is no published one-time mission list for Most Wanted. For a practical 100-percent target, clear every bounty or challenge the mode exposes in your save, unlock all characters, weapons and cosmetics shown by its progression screens, and finish the trophies associated with the mode. Because the first-party pages do not state the total number of bounties, characters or cosmetic items, use the in-game completion display rather than an assumed total.
How it fits into the wider game
Unlike Echoes, Most Wanted is designed for repeatable combat. It is therefore efficient to play a few runs after the story expansion, use the new equipment where appropriate, and return whenever you want a shorter combat session instead of another narrative chapter.

Ghost of Yōtei Legends co-op guide
Available modes and party sizes
| Mode | Players | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Story | Two players | Cooperative narrative missions. |
| Survival | Four players | Hold out against successive combat waves. |
| Incursion | Party activity; the documented description calls these raid activities. | Face supernatural versions of the Yōtei Six. |
Legends is free post-launch DLC and is included in the Complete Edition. Online multiplayer requires an active PlayStation Plus subscription. The requirement applies to playing these activities online; the first-party information does not describe an offline solo substitute for the co-op modes.
Preparation checklist
- Confirm that every player has installed the same game update and has access to Legends.
- Use a two-player group for Story and expand to four players for Survival.
- Agree on voice or text communication before starting an Incursion, since raid-style encounters against supernatural Yōtei Six versions are likely to punish uncoordinated play.
- Complete Story first if your group needs to learn the mode’s cooperative objectives; move to Survival for wave practice and Incursion when the party is comfortable.
The official descriptions establish the modes and player limits, but they do not publish a class roster, difficulty ladder or Incursion encounter count. Treat those details as save-specific or update-specific rather than relying on an unverified universal checklist.

Collectibles: what is known and how to finish them
Base-game collectibles
The base game supports collectible cleanup in New Game Plus because the official game page says collectibles carry over. Before restarting, finish any map activity whose reward or resource you want immediately, then record the remaining collectibles you still need. Keeping a simple region-by-region note prevents a replay from becoming a second blind search.
Best Value
- Beyond war, ancient beauty endures: Roam vast countryside and expansive terrain to encounter rich characters, discover ancient landmarks and uncover the hidden beauty of Tsushima.
- The rise of the Ghost: Seek support from old friends and new unlikely allies to reclaim Tsushima.
- Mud, Blood and steel: challenge opponents with your katana for an immersive Samurai combat experience.
- Become legends together: play with friends or via online matchmaking in a series of two-player story missions or four-player wave-based survival missions in the legends online co-op
- A whole new island to explore: Travel to Iki Island to investigate rumors of a Mongol presence in a brand-new story with deeply personal stakes.
- Mark each completed collectible by region or map area.
- Separate items already collected from activities that are merely discovered but not finished.
- Take a final inventory before selecting New Game Plus so you know which gaps remain.
- Use the carried-over inventory to avoid collecting the same item twice unless the game explicitly presents it as a new-playthrough reward.
Echoes of Sekigahara collectibles
No exact DLC collectible count or location-by-location list appears in the official sources. The documented facts are limited to the new valley, its story, enemies and equipment. For that reason, a responsible guide cannot give a numeric target for the expansion. Check the in-game completion information and verify any third-party location list against your own save before treating it as complete.
Collectibles and New Game Plus
New Game Plus appears on the title screen after the main story is complete. It carries over gear, upgrades, cosmetics, resources and collectibles. That makes it a cleanup tool rather than a reset: you can begin a replay with your established progression and continue toward missing base-game items and trophies.
What carries over to New Game Plus
| Category | Carry-over status | Practical implication |
|---|---|---|
| Gear | Carries over. | You do not need to rebuild your established equipment before tackling replay encounters. |
| Upgrades | Carry over. | Spend time before restarting on the upgrades that support your preferred play style. |
| Cosmetics | Carry over. | Unlocked appearances remain available in the replay. |
| Resources | Carry over. | Gather supplies you want available at the beginning of the new cycle. |
| Collectibles | Carry over. | Use New Game Plus to find omissions without losing the items already recorded. |
| New 2026 rewards | The Complete Edition announcement identifies additional New Game Plus cosmetics and trophies for Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted. | Include the two new modes in your trophy and cosmetic checklist instead of treating the replay as base-game-only. |
Before you press New Game Plus
- Finish the main story and wait for New Game Plus to appear on the title screen.
- Complete any remaining map activities whose first-playthrough rewards you want immediately.
- Collect and spend resources according to your preferred build, since your resource stock is carried over.
- Write down missing collectibles and trophies, including any requirements introduced by Echoes and Most Wanted.
- Start the replay only after confirming that your save has synchronized and that the expected carry-over inventory is present.
Complete Edition versus buying content separately
| Option | Documented contents | What is not established |
|---|---|---|
| Complete Edition PS5 | Base game, Echoes of Sekigahara, Most Wanted, Legends and Digital Deluxe content. | Regional price, stock, seller, physical availability and territory-specific upgrade terms. |
| Existing base-game ownership | Access to the base game; additional content depends on the entitlement shown for your account and region. | No single worldwide upgrade price or universal purchase path is published in the cited first-party material. |
| Legends post-launch DLC | Free DLC; included in the Complete Edition. | Online access still requires PlayStation Plus. |
If your goal is the full completion route, compare the entitlements displayed in your regional PlayStation Store account rather than comparing a retailer’s title alone. A box labelled “Complete Edition” should be checked against the official contents list, particularly when buying a used physical copy or a code from a different territory.
Troubleshooting missing content
Echoes or Most Wanted is not visible
- Confirm the game has installed version 2.0 or a later build.
- Check that the account currently signed in owns the expansion or Complete Edition entitlement.
- Restart the game after the update finishes; do not rely on a suspended application from before the patch.
- Verify that the disc and account region are compatible when using a physical copy.
New Game Plus is missing
- Confirm that the main story, rather than only a major side activity, is complete.
- Return to the title screen; New Game Plus is documented to appear there after the story.
- Load the completed save and allow any end-of-story sequence to finish before quitting.
Legends matchmaking will not start
- Check PlayStation Plus on every player’s account, since online multiplayer requires it.
- Make sure all players are on the same current game version.
- Use the documented party limits: two for Story and four for Survival.
Completion checklist
- Main story finished.
- Desired base-game map activities and resources collected.
- Echoes of Sekigahara story completed, including the Ezo valley and Sekigahara flashbacks.
- New weapon type, heavy weapons, armor sets and dyes from the expansion checked against your in-game inventory.
- Most Wanted bounties completed as far as the mode’s progression screen requires.
- Most Wanted perks, playable characters, weapons and cosmetics unlocked according to the save’s displayed progress.
- Legends Story, Survival and Incursion activities completed with the required online access.
- New Game Plus started from the title screen.
- Remaining collectibles and trophies cleaned up with carried-over gear, upgrades, cosmetics, resources and collectibles.
The only part of this checklist that cannot be given a reliable universal number from the official material is DLC collectibles: exact counts and locations for Echoes of Sekigahara are not stated. Use your in-game completion indicators or a separately verified walkthrough for that final audit.
