Start the meditation with him and press Circle to end it and complete the quest. The walkthrough does not specify a required meditation time.
How to complete Master Yoshida’s Final Lesson
- Complete The Odachi’s Redemption. PowerPyx lists this quest as a prerequisite for the Final Lesson. PowerPyx’s walkthrough covers the quest requirements and completion.
- Learn every Odachi skill. The Final Lesson requires all skills in the Odachi category. If you have not spent any skill points on Odachi skills, PowerPyx estimates that five skills remain to be learned, requiring five Altars of Reflection. You may need fewer altars if you have already invested points in the tree.
- Return to Yoshida’s dojo. Go to Master Yoshida’s dojo in the Tokachi Range and speak with him after meeting the skill requirement.
- Begin the meditation. Choose the interaction with Yoshida to start the final meditation.
- Press Circle to finish. This ends the meditation and completes the Final Lesson. The walkthrough gives no reason to wait longer or a required duration. It lists a Weapon Kit as the quest reward.
What “Odachi meditation” can mean
The phrase can refer either to the final dojo scene with Yoshida or to using Altars of Reflection to learn techniques. These are separate parts of progression: Altars help you learn skills, while the Final Lesson is the quest you complete after learning all Odachi skills.

Why the Altars matter
PlayStation describes Altars of Reflection as places to meditate on what you have learned and learn new Techniques. The official game page also describes the Ōdachi as a powerful, heavy weapon that counters Heavy enemies with unstoppable attacks. Those descriptions explain the connection between the weapon and technique progression, but do not give the Final Lesson walkthrough or a fixed number of altars. PlayStation’s Ghost of Yōtei page provides the official overview.
