Is Ghost of Yōtei a sequel to Ghost of Tsushima?
Not in the direct-story sense. Sucker Punch describes Ghost of Yōtei as a standalone experience set roughly 300 years after Ghost of Tsushima, with a new protagonist and setting. Jin Sakai does not appear, though his legend endures. You do not need to play Ghost of Tsushima first to follow Atsu’s story; familiarity may help you recognize the series’ shared design and mythos. Who is Atsu, and what is her story?
Atsu is a mercenary who returns to Ezo to pursue the Yōtei Six, the gang that killed her family and left her for dead sixteen years earlier. The story begins with vengeance, but Sucker Punch describes it as a journey that goes beyond revenge toward healing and redemption. The game’s fictional narrative is set in 1600s rural Japan; the official materials do not establish it as a precise historical account.
Where and when does the game take place?
The setting is Ezo, the northern region known today as Hokkaido. Sony describes a rugged open world in 17th-century Japan, with dangerous encounters as well as quieter moments. Players can build a campfire anywhere in the world for a rest, and some activities return from Ghost of Tsushima. What do you do in Ghost of Yōtei?
The central pursuit is hunting the Yōtei Six, but the game gives players room to choose their route through it. You can decide which of the six targets to pursue first, track other dangerous figures for bounties, and seek weapon sensei to learn skills. Exploration ranges from fights and other threats to peaceful reprieves. These are official descriptions of the game, not a claim about a particular play style or completion route.
What platforms is Ghost of Yōtei on?
Ghost of Yōtei launched on October 2, 2025, for PlayStation 5. Sucker Punch says it supports PS5 Pro and is not coming to PS4. The launch announcement also cites DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, and PS5 Pro features including PSSR and advanced ray tracing. There is no fixed official hour estimate. Sucker Punch says the time it takes depends on how much each player explores and discovers. That means a single completion-time figure would not reflect an official estimate.
What is included in the Complete Edition?
The Complete Edition package includes the base game, the Echoes of Sekigahara narrative expansion, Most Wanted, and Ghost of Yōtei Legends. The PlayStation Store listing describes the package and online requirements. Store availability and listings can vary by territory.

Most Wanted is a single-player combat-survival mode that Sucker Punch describes as its take on a roguelike. Runs begin with a bounty and feature perks and unlockable characters.

Patch v2.0 was announced as arriving globally on October 1, 2026, and on October 2 in some territories, including Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. The free quality-of-life update for owners includes Beauty of Yōtei mode, new Watanabe Mode tracks, the ability to separate armor appearance from stats, and a high-contrast accessibility option. The announcement was updated to clarify that the Watanabe tracks are part of the free patch, not exclusive to the Complete Edition. Territory-specific timing may differ; check local patch notes. Does Ghost of Yōtei have multiplayer?
Yes. Ghost of Yōtei Legends is online co-op for up to four players and is included in the Complete Edition. The listed modes are Survival, Story, and Incursion, culminating in a Raid. PlayStation Plus is required for online multiplayer and sold separately. The main Atsu story and Most Wanted are single-player experiences.
