Gigantamax Toxtricity is weak to Ground- and Psychic-type attacks. Pokémon GO Hub’s August 22, 2025 guide recommends Dynamax Excadrill with Mud-Slap or Mud Shot and Max Quake as the leading counter. Build each four-Trainer subgroup around attackers, a defender, and a healer; during the fight, dodge targeted attacks, collect energy icons, and cheer if your team faints. Pokémon GO’s 2025 update allows up to 100 Trainers to join a Gigantamax battle worldwide, split into groups of four or fewer. Check official event announcements for current Toxtricity availability.
What is Gigantamax Toxtricity weak against?
Toxtricity’s Electric/Poison typing makes Ground and Psychic attacks the recommended weaknesses to exploit, according to Pokémon GO Hub’s species-specific guide. Ground is the guide’s emphasis: its top attacker uses Max Quake. Psychic-type attackers are alternatives when they are the eligible Max Pokémon you can bring.
What are the best Gigantamax Toxtricity counters in Pokémon Go?
The following attacker and move recommendations come from Pokémon GO Hub’s guide, published August 22, 2025. They are specialist recommendations, not official requirements, and availability or move details may change. Only Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokémon can enter a Max Battle, so check that your Pokémon is eligible and that it has the listed moves before planning around it.

Can Excadrill beat Gigantamax Toxtricity?
Dynamax Excadrill is Pokémon GO Hub’s leading attacker for this matchup when equipped with Mud-Slap or Mud Shot and Max Quake. That makes it a strong choice for the attacker role, but it is not a guarantee of victory by itself: the encounter also depends on your subgroup’s preparation and coordination.

Its sample team uses Excadrill as the attacker, Latias with Dragon Breath as a defender, and Blissey as a healer. Other defender options named in the guide are Latios, Dynamax Venusaur, Crowned Shield Zamazenta, Dynamax Raikou, and Crowned Sword Zacian. Wailord, Gigantamax Snorlax, Gigantamax Lapras, Greedent, and Entei are listed as healer alternatives. These are guide suggestions, not mandatory team slots or official role rules.

- When the meter fills: Your team gets three Max turns. Use the subgroup’s planned attacks and support moves; Max Guard reduces damage, while Max Spirit heals its user and allies.
- If your team faints: Keep cheering to help teammates fill their Max meters faster. Fainted Pokémon do not recover during the battle.
You can bring up to three Max Pokémon per Trainer, according to the Niantic Help Center. That page’s older participant limit is superseded by Pokémon GO’s later update; its information about fainting and cheering remains relevant.
How many people do you need for a Gigantamax Toxtricity battle?
Pokémon GO’s 2025 Gigantamax battle update raised the worldwide maximum to 100 Trainers in one battle, arranged in groups of four or fewer. The update says this change remains in effect after Pokémon GO Fest 2025: Max Finale. Coordinate with the players in your own subgroup rather than assuming that everyone joining the wider battle will follow the same plan.
