Google’s Halloween 2024 Doodle is the third Magic Cat Academy game. It sends Momo, the spell-casting cat, into the atmosphere to battle ghosts—including her arch nemesis, Marshmallow. The official archive dates the Doodle October 30, 2024, and includes a play prompt, though that does not establish whether the game launches on every device or in every region today.
What is the new Google Halloween game?
It is Magic Cat Academy 3, an interactive Halloween Doodle in which Momo fights ghostly enemies as she travels through layers of the atmosphere. Google describes the 2024 adventure as “out of this world” and identifies Marshmallow the ghost as Momo’s arch nemesis. The official Halloween 2024 Doodle archive labels it the third edition of the series.
The game’s central action is drawing or swiping the symbols shown above approaching enemies. Matching a symbol casts a spell to stop a ghost before it reaches Momo. Space.com’s October 31, 2024 report describes the symbols, and notes that the enemies become more numerous and approach faster as play progresses.
How do you play Magic Cat Academy 3?
- Open the Halloween 2024 Doodle archive page and use its play prompt if the interactive is available to you.
- Watch the symbols displayed over the approaching ghosts or other creatures.
- Draw or swipe the matching symbol to cast a spell before an enemy reaches Momo.
- Keep matching as the challenge rises: Space.com reported that symbols, enemy numbers, and approach speed increase in difficulty.
The available sources do not confirm that the interactive currently launches successfully in every browser, device, or geography. Space.com’s report that it appeared on Google’s homepage for 48 hours describes the original 2024 launch window, not present-day access.

Who is Momo, and where did the earlier games take place?
Momo is the feline hero of Magic Cat Academy. Google says she was inspired by a real black cat named Momo belonging to Doodler Juliana Chen. In the original 2016 game, the “freshman feline” set out to rescue her school of magic; the game had five school levels.
The series changes setting with each installment while keeping Momo and symbol-drawing spell combat at its center:
