Developer Perfect Garbage announced the delay on September 30, 2026, moving the game from its Fall 2026 target. The team says its first major console-porting effort took longer than expected, and it is using the added time for platform optimization, polish, and bug fixing.
Why was Grave Seasons delayed?
Perfect Garbage said console porting had proved difficult, particularly because Grave Seasons is the studio’s first major title. The team is now working with a porting partner and says the additional time has helped it optimize the game for Nintendo Switch and a wider range of PC specifications. Its September 30 announcement describes the remaining work as final polish and bug fixing.
The team also said the game is “content complete.” That means the content is locked; it does not mean every port is finished or that final polish and bug fixing are complete. Perfect Garbage reported more than 600,000 Steam wishlists in the same devlog, a developer-reported promotional figure rather than an independently audited count. The first delay was framed as extra time for polish across platforms. The latest delay has a more specific explanation: porting challenges and the work needed to optimize and finish the game. The developers’ September announcement says, “To start off, we have made the difficult decision to push back our launch date to March 9th 2027.” Both the date and explanation are from the official announcement page.

Is Grave Seasons still coming to Switch?
Yes. The developer FAQ, edited September 30, 2026, lists Nintendo Switch 1 alongside Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. The planned June 15 demo was cancelled when the release moved to Fall 2026. The studio said a later Steam demo would depend on its capacity, and the cited announcements do not establish that a demo is currently available. Check the official announcement page for any subsequent update.
