A PlayStation Store listing for a game called Gray Zone Attack, attributed to developer Esail, was reported on December 3, 2024. Insider Gaming noted similarities to MADFINGER Games’ Gray Zone Warfare in the names, artwork and tactical-shooter pitch. The report described Gray Zone Attack as a separate, single-player title planned for 2025; it did not establish that the game later launched or remains available.
What was reported about Gray Zone Attack?
Insider Gaming reported that Gray Zone Attack had appeared in the PlayStation Store, with Esail named as its developer and 2025 given as its planned release year. The outlet compared the listing’s name, artwork and description with Gray Zone Warfare. Those are observations reported at the time, not a legal finding about copying or infringement. Insider Gaming’s December 3, 2024 report is the source for the listing details.
The report quoted the listing’s description as: “Prepare to enter a hostile and unpredictable world where danger lurks at every turn. In Gray Zone Attack, you’re part of an elite tactical unit sent to uncover the secrets of a devastated quarantine zone. Every decision matters, every bullet counts, and survival is never guaranteed.” This is listing copy reproduced by the outlet, not independently verified gameplay or product information.
Is Gray Zone Attack the same game as Gray Zone Warfare?
No. The report treated them as separate titles: it attributed Gray Zone Attack to Esail and identified Gray Zone Warfare as MADFINGER Games’ game. It pointed to a similar naming approach and tactical, open-world language, including the reported Gray Zone Attack slogan “Every decision matters” alongside Gray Zone Warfare’s “Every move matters.” Similarities described in a report do not, by themselves, establish infringement.

The report also drew a gameplay distinction: the listing described Gray Zone Attack as single-player, while Gray Zone Warfare was described as a PvEvP first-person shooter. Insider Gaming reproduced a comment attributed to MADFINGER communications director Rick Lagnese: “While #GrayZoneWarfare brings players tactical depth and strategic thrills, “Gray Zone Attack” might be a little too busy attacking the idea of originality. We prefer crafting something one-of-a-kind.”
Did Gray Zone Attack come out, and is it on PlayStation now?
The available reporting establishes only that the title was listed and described as planned for 2025 in December 2024. It does not confirm that Gray Zone Attack launched, or whether a PlayStation Store page is available now. A separate Vortex report from December 3, 2024 also described a PlayStation Store database profile attributed to Esail LTD with an anticipated 2025 date, but that historical corroboration does not settle the game’s later status: Vortex’s report.

The sources reviewed do not document a response from Sony or a legal decision. The reported listing should not be taken as proof that Sony endorsed the game, that it was removed, or that a court or other authority found infringement.

MADFINGER’s October 1, 2026 Update 0.5 teaser announced a Supporter Preview starting October 19 and a planned October 22 release for Gray Zone Warfare: Rogue Ops. These were scheduled dates in the announcement, not confirmation of what subsequently occurred. The announcement describes the update as a major milestone with a new gameplay loop: MADFINGER’s Update 0.5 teaser.
