Why some guides list five labs and others list more
“All labs” can refer narrowly to the five familiar main entrances—Oak, Hedge, Pond, Haze, and Black Anthill—or broadly to those labs plus later story locations and optional outposts. A 2022 guide titled around five lab entrances reflects that narrower list; the location index also names the Stump Lab Outpost, Undershed Lab, and Mysterious Lab. The JavaMatic Storage Facility and Sandbox Lab Outpost are lab-related sites in that index, rather than additional entries in the standard five-entrance list. The five commonly listed main lab entrances
Oak Lab

Hedge Lab

Pond Lab

Stump Lab Outpost

How to use this list while exploring
The Backyard is divided into Lower and Upper Yard sectors. The Lower Yard includes the Grasslands, Hedge, Koi Pond, and Haze; the Upper Yard contains more dangerous environments than the Lower Yard. Use the broad placements in the table to identify which region to search, and treat the explicit access gates as progression checks. For Oak, activate the Mysterious Machine; for the Undershed, meet the chip, fuse, and SCA.B requirements. The available references do not verify exact routes for every location, so consult the relevant in-game landmarks rather than assuming a route from a regional name alone.
