To unlock cooking in Grow a Garden, complete a Garden Guide achievement tier, claim the Cooking Kit reward, then place the kit from Cosmetics in your garden. The five Common achievements are the easiest reported route. Once the kit is placed, add crops, press Cook, and collect the finished dish.
How to unlock the Cooking Kit
The Cooking Kit is an in-game reward tied to Garden Guide achievements, not a Roblox badge. The instructions below reflect guides published in 2025; check the live reward screen because menus and requirements can change.
- Open your inventory and select Garden Guide.
- Open the Achievements tab. Complete all five Common achievements: shovel 100 plants, harvest 200 carrots, gift 1 carrot, sell 500 strawberries, and gift 5 strawberries.
- Claim the Cooking Kit reward. Beebom’s August 16, 2025 guide says the kit is added to your Cosmetics inventory: Beebom’s Cooking Kit guide.
- Open Cosmetics, select the Cooking Kit, and place it inside your garden plot.
All Things How’s September 8, 2025 guide also reports that completing the Rare or Mythical achievement sets can award kits, with those tiers offering up to two additional kits. It describes Common as the easiest route; it does not give a dependable comparison of completion times. Confirm the reward available in your current Garden Guide: All Things How’s cooking guide.
How to cook food with the kit
- Hold a crop and interact with the Cooking Kit to add it.
- Check the ingredient board and the cooking timer.
- Press the green Cook button.
- When the dish is ready, collect it into your inventory.
Beebom’s August 16, 2025 guide reports an optional 39 Robux cooking-time skip. It is not needed to cook; check the in-game prompt for the current price and availability.

How ingredients affect cooking
All Things How reports that cooking time varies with crop weight and the number of crops used, rarer crops can improve food quality, and mutations may increase the chance that a cooked result inherits a mutation. These are guide-reported mechanics, not independently verified here, so treat them as useful indicators rather than guaranteed outcomes.
Use the in-game Recipe Book to confirm combinations. The community-maintained Cooking Event wiki says a dish must be cooked once before it appears in the book, and marks its recipe section outdated. Some older recipes also depended on NPC cravings, so an old ingredient list may not work in every situation.

What to do with cooked food
Guides describe cooked dishes as items you can sell, feed to pets or NPCs, and use toward achievements or friendship goals. Corn Dogs are also reported as part of a Pet Pouch crafting path; All Things How says one Pet Pouch adds one pet inventory slot. Check current crafting requirements in the game before spending ingredients.
Feeding Sam
PCGamesN’s September 12, 2025 guide says to hold cooked food before speaking to Sam, the Seed Shop NPC. It reports that Sam can be fed once every 24 hours and that enough feedings add another Seed Shop tab. After the Cooking Event
The community wiki dates the Cooking Event to August 2–16, 2025, and says cooking continued afterward through the Cooking Kit. Its recipe section is explicitly outdated, so rely on the live Recipe Book rather than assuming an archived event recipe list is current.
