To complete the Kitsune quest in Grow a Garden, submit crops with the Corrupt (also called Corrupted) and Tranquil mutations to the Kitsune NPC. The reported reward is a Kitsune Chest, but published guides disagree on the number of crops required, so check the quest’s live meters or text before turning crops in.
What crops does Kitsune want?
The quest asks for crops carrying either the Corrupt/Corrupted mutation or the Tranquil mutation. A normal crop does not meet either requirement; check its mutation before offering it.
How to submit crops to the Kitsune NPC
- Collect crops with the Corrupt/Corrupted and Tranquil mutations.
- Hold one eligible crop and approach the Kitsune NPC.
- Interact with the NPC and select “Take this plant”. One crop is submitted at a time. A guide describes pressing E, but controls can differ by platform.
- Watch the corresponding mutation meter fill, then repeat with crops for the other mutation until both meters are complete.
How many crops do you need?
Published guides conflict: Beebom’s guide, updated July 26, 2025, says six Corrupted and six Tranquil fruits; the community Kitsune NPC page and a separate event guide say five of each. No official current source establishes which count applies now. Use the live quest display as your authority and stop when its meters or instructions show completion.
What is the Kitsune quest reward?
Available guides report that completing both mutation meters earns a Kitsune Chest. Current chest contents, drop odds, and whether this quest is still available in the live game are not established, so do not rely on older item lists or percentages as current.
