The Grow a Garden Zen Event was a limited-time event that ran from July 19 to August 2, 2025; its Corrupted expansion arrived July 26. The sources available do not establish that the event has returned or can currently be replayed, so this guide explains how its systems worked rather than suggesting they are available now.
How the Grow a Garden Zen Event worked
The event centered on collecting Tranquil crops and deciding where to spend them: submit them to grow the Zen Tree and earn progression rewards, or trade them to the Tanuki for Chi to spend in the event shop. The event is associated with Update 1.15.0 in a fan-maintained wiki. No region-specific variation is reported.
During Zen Aura weather, one random crop gained the Tranquil mutation every 30 seconds. Pocket Tactics reported that the weather lasted ten minutes and occurred once per hour. These are historical event mechanics, not a current schedule.
How do I get Grow a Garden tranquil plants?
- Wait for Zen Aura. During the event, Zen Aura weather triggered the Tranquil crop cycle.
- Look for crops that gained the Tranquil mutation. One random crop received it every 30 seconds while the ten-minute weather event was active, according to Pocket Tactics.
- Harvest the crops. Pocket Tactics described using a Tranquil Radar to locate nearby Tranquil crops. Beebom also listed Tranquil Radar as an event-shop item, so this was historical event equipment, not a currently obtainable recommendation.
- Choose where each crop goes. Submit it for Zen Tree progression or trade it for Chi; the two uses compete for the same crop.
How do I get Grow a Garden chi?
During the event, trading Tranquil crops to the Tanuki awarded Chi. The reported amount depended on crop rarity:

| Crop rarity | Chi reported per crop |
|---|---|
| Common | 1 |
| Uncommon | 2 |
| Rare | 3 |
| Legendary | 4 |
| Mythical | 5 |
| Divine | 6 |
| Prismatic | 7 |
| Transcendent | 8 |
These values are reported by event guides, not an official developer statement. Accounts of additional Chi from Gold or Rainbow mutations conflict, so there is no settled bonus value to rely on here.
Should you give Tranquil crops to the Zen Tree or Tanuki?
| Choice | What you spend the crop on | What you get | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zen Channeller | Zen Tree growth | Tree-stage rewards and access to more shop inventory | Players prioritizing event progression and unlocks |
| Tanuki | Chi for the event shop | Currency retained for purchases | Players prioritizing specific shop items |
The guides do not establish a universal best strategy. Your choice depended on whether you valued tree progression and stage rewards or wanted to build Chi for purchases. The Zen Tree had seven stages; advancing it unlocked additional shop inventory as well as stage rewards.

What changed in the Corrupted update?
The Corrupted content was added on July 26, 2025. A fan-maintained wiki describes a cycle in which Corrupted weather could replace regular Zen Aura, and a Kitsune quest requiring five Corrupt and five Tranquil crops to earn a Kitsune Chest. This detail is specific to that wiki’s account of the event.
