Enhanced or Legacy: which PC edition should you use?
Rockstar’s PC package includes both GTAV Enhanced and GTAV Legacy. Legacy is included as an option for hardware that does not meet Enhanced’s minimum requirements. If your PC meets the Enhanced specs and you want its listed graphics and loading features, try Enhanced; if it does not, or you prefer to avoid the higher hardware demands, use Legacy.

How GTA Online migration works on PC
Eligible players can migrate a GTA Online profile from Legacy to Enhanced on PC. Start the migration from Enhanced’s landing page or pause menu. Rockstar may make migration unavailable for profiles affected by suspensions or bans, or those with illegitimate or insufficient progress. Rockstar’s migration instructions explain the process.

Current PC players can transfer both GTAV Story Mode progress and GTA Online characters and progression with a one-time migration from the legacy version of GTAV to GTAV Enhanced.
- Stunning Visuals - Enhanced levels of fidelity and performance with new graphics modes including ray tracing features such as ambient occlusion and global illumination, ray traced shadows and reflections, support for AMD FSR and NVIDIA DLSS, and more.*
- Faster Loading - Quicker access to the action as the world of Los Santos and Blaine County load in faster than ever before by using SSD and DirectStorage on supported devices.
- Immersive Controls - Feel new levels of responsiveness with dynamic resistance via the Adaptive Triggers on the DualSense wireless controller, from directional damage to weather effects, rough road surfaces to explosions, and much more.*
The migration is one-time. Rockstar retains your Legacy progress, but after migration the Legacy and Enhanced profiles do not sync; progress you earn in one edition will not carry over to the other. Choose the edition where you intend to continue playing before you begin. The documented process is PC Legacy to PC Enhanced; it does not establish console-to-PC migration.
How to transfer a Story Mode save
Story Mode migration uses an upload-and-download process rather than the Online profile migration:

- This Certified Refurbished product is tested and certified to look and work like new. The refurbishing process includes functionality testing, basic cleaning, inspection, and repackaging. The product ships with all relevant accessories, a minimum 90-day warranty, and may arrive in a generic box.
- Upload your Legacy Story Mode save to Rockstar.
- You may update the uploaded save until you begin downloading it in Enhanced.
- Download the save in Enhanced. After a successful download, no further Story Mode migrations are available on that account.
An uploaded save remains available for 90 days and may be removed after that period. Legacy Story Mode progress made after migration does not sync to Enhanced. See Rockstar’s Story Mode migration instructions for the account-specific steps.

Yes. Rockstar’s Title Update 1.73 notes include an October 1, 2026 entry for PC Enhanced and Legacy, including additional Mission Creator features for Enhanced PC. Update contents can change, so consult the Rockstar Newswire update notes for the latest dated details rather than treating a specific feature list as permanent.
