Rockstar has named several Grand Theft Auto VI characters, but that does not mean it has confirmed who performs each role. Stephen Root has publicly confirmed he is in the game; GamesRadar identifies him as Brian Heder’s performer. The actors playing leads Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos are not confirmed in the sources reviewed here.
Which GTA 6 characters has Rockstar confirmed?
Rockstar’s official GTA VI character profiles establish the names and backgrounds of Jason Duval, Lucia Caminos, Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, Raul Bautista and Brian Heder. They describe fictional characters, not the actors performing them.
Jason Duval
Rockstar says Jason grew up around “grifters and crooks” and joined the Army to move beyond his troubled teenage years. After leaving, he worked for local drug runners in the Keys. He wants an easier life, but meeting Lucia could make that harder—or give him a chance at something better. Rockstar’s profile puts it simply: “Jason wants an easy life, but things just keep getting harder.”
Lucia Caminos
Lucia’s father taught her to fight. After fighting for her family led to a prison sentence at Leonida Penitentiary, luck got her out. She wants the better life her mother dreamed of after their time in Liberty City, and she is ready to pursue her own plan.

Supporting characters
- Cal Hampton is Jason’s friend and one of Brian’s associates. Rockstar describes him as a homebody who snoops on Coast Guard communications and is comfortable with conspiratorial thinking.
- Boobie Ike is a Vice City figure who built a legitimate business empire spanning real estate, a strip club and a recording studio.
- Raul Bautista is an experienced bank robber who seeks people willing to take risks. Rockstar says his recklessness raises the stakes.
- Brian Heder is a drug runner from the Keys’ smuggling era. He still moves product through his boatyard with his third wife, Lori, and lets Jason live rent-free in one of his properties in exchange for help with local shakedowns.
Rockstar’s official character and media site also features Dre’Quan Priest and Real Dimez. PC Gamer’s August 29, 2026 character guide describes Real Dimez as the rap duo Bae-Luxe and Roxy, and Dre’Quan as a music hustler. Those are secondary-source descriptions; consult Rockstar’s profiles for the official character material. These names are not a complete cast list.
What is the GTA 6 story premise?
In its May 6, 2025 Trailer 2 announcement, Rockstar said Jason and Lucia become caught in a criminal conspiracy across Leonida after an easy score goes wrong, forcing them to rely on each other to survive. That establishes the broad setup, not a full plot summary: the sources cited here do not establish the complete story or the characters’ eventual fates.

Which GTA 6 actors are confirmed?
For a cast question, it helps to separate four kinds of evidence: Rockstar’s confirmation that a character exists; a performer’s own confirmation of involvement in the game; a publication’s attribution of a specific role; and speculation. The first three do not automatically prove the same thing.
Stephen Root
Stephen Root has publicly confirmed that he is in GTA VI. GamesRadar reports that confirmation from Associated Press material and quotes Root saying, “Yeah, you’re gonna see me in there.” Root also said, “From the first rollout of GTA that they were doing – almost a year ago – they had my character in there, and there are too many people who knew me from King of the Hill and my voice [laughs] so I think that secret kind of got divulged already.” He added, “I’m so happy to be involved with it. It’s an amazing thing to look at.”

GamesRadar identifies Root as Brian Heder’s performer. The quoted remarks confirm Root’s involvement, but Root does not explicitly name Brian in those remarks. So the careful distinction is: Root has confirmed he is in the game, and GamesRadar attributes Brian Heder to him.
Jason and Lucia’s performers
The reviewed sources do not establish who performs Jason or Lucia. A resemblance, voice comparison, IMDb listing, résumé or fan theory is not equivalent to an actor or studio confirmation, so rumored lead-actor names should not be presented as confirmed.
