Rockstar lists two editions of Grand Theft Auto VI: Standard and Ultimate. Both include the game; Ultimate adds a bundle of digital in-game extras. On the US PlayStation storefront, Standard is listed at $79.99 and Ultimate at $99.99. Standard is the simpler pick if you want the game without the extras, especially because Rockstar says you can buy the Ultimate upgrade later.

What does GTA 6 Ultimate add?
The Ultimate Edition Upgrade is a set of digital in-game bonuses for Jason and Lucia, with items revealed across story chapters. Rockstar’s listed categories include vehicles, revolvers and personalized weapon variants, clothing and styles, locations or activities such as shops and other venues, and a classic car collection.

Named examples include the ’95 Grotti Cheetah, Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers, Shitzu Squalo, and ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy. These are digital items and content within the game, not physical collectibles or real-world products. The listings describe the edition difference as the included upgrade; they do not establish that Ultimate provides a different campaign or a performance advantage. Can you buy the Ultimate extras later?
Yes. Rockstar says Standard owners can purchase the Ultimate Edition Upgrade separately through the PlayStation or Microsoft storefront after redeeming their game code. That gives Standard buyers a way to start with the base game and decide later whether the listed extras are worth adding. Confirm the upgrade’s current availability and price in your platform’s store before buying.
Platforms, release date, and editions
Rockstar lists Grand Theft Auto VI for release on November 19, 2026, with launch platforms PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The PlayStation listing includes PS5 and PS5 Pro and says the game will not be playable on PlayStation 4. The official sources reviewed do not list a PC edition, so a PC release is not confirmed by these listings. Check the Rockstar Store and PlayStation listing for platform information.

What is included in the physical version?
The physical Standard Edition is a box containing a download code, not a disc. Rockstar says there is no physical Ultimate Edition. Because the code redeems for a digital download, the boxed version does not provide disc ownership or disc resale.

Pre-order bonuses and the GTA+ month
Rockstar and Take-Two say qualifying pre-orders and purchases made before November 20, 2026 include the Vintage Vice City Pack. The listed items include a ’55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and Garage, outfits and hairstyles, and an exclusive weapon pattern. The offer also says digital pre-orders and purchases include one month of GTA+. On the US PlayStation Store, the included GTA+ month is non-transferable and tied to the pre-order account. It automatically renews monthly after the free month unless canceled, and it must be redeemed by March 31, 2027. If you do not want paid continuation, cancel before the trial ends. These terms are specific to the PlayStation US offer; check other storefronts for their terms.

Which GTA 6 edition should you buy?
- Choose Standard if you mainly want the game and are not yet sure you value the Ultimate extras. The upgrade can be purchased later, according to Rockstar.
- Choose Ultimate if you have reviewed the digital bonus list and want those items included at purchase. The US PlayStation listing is $20 higher than Standard, but whether the extras are worth that difference depends on your preferences.
- Choose based on format, not the word “physical” if you collect boxed games: the physical Standard box contains a download code rather than a disc.
