The headline about more than 90 GTA 6 videos refers to a September 2022 leak of early-development footage—not a later leak episode. Rockstar confirmed that an unauthorized third party accessed and downloaded confidential information, including footage from the next Grand Theft Auto, and said development would continue as planned. The leaked material was not a definitive preview of the finished game.
What happened in the September 2022 GTA 6 leak?
In September 2022, Windows Central reported that more than 90 videos of early-development Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay were circulating online. The reported count was “over 90,” not exactly 90. The footage came from an early stage of development, so apparent mechanics and story details should be treated as provisional rather than confirmed features of the released game. Windows Central’s report reproduced Rockstar’s response.
What Rockstar confirmed
Rockstar said an unauthorized third party had accessed and downloaded confidential information from its systems, including early development footage for the next Grand Theft Auto. The company said it was “extremely disappointed” that details of the game had been shared this way, but added: “Our work on the next Grand Theft Auto game will continue as planned.” Rockstar also said it did not anticipate a long-term effect on development. Those comments describe the company’s response to the 2022 intrusion; they do not establish the source or method behind any later leak.
Was there another GTA 6 leak?
Yes. A separate wave of gameplay videos was reported in August 2026. It is distinct from the 2022 incident and is not the event behind the “90 videos” headline. In a statement reproduced by Game Informer on August 26, 2026, Rockstar called the leak “heartbreaking” for its team, said the game was “nearly there,” and asked fans to wait for its November 19 release.
